I never thought I'd have to reach out for emotional support here, but I'm am devastated. I'm sitting in the airport having cut my trip to Florida short, to go home and care for his body.
I live alone, and my parrot has been my companion for thirty years. I never have felt such profound grief and sorrow. He was in perfect health-my friend was caring for him, and she called to say he died yesterday. He was fine on Sunday, but Monday he was lying in blood in his cage.
I'm having a hard time dealing with the pain-every time I passed his cage I'd say hello and that he's a good boy.
Thanks for listening, BWW.
Oh Jane, I'm so sorry to hear that.
*hugs*

I am sorry Jane! I was talking about your parrot last Thursday!
Jane, I'm so sorry for your loss.
I can't even imagine how I'll handle it when my cockatiel passes away.

Thanks friends, but how do you get over this? my constant companion for 30 years.
That is devastating Jane. There is nothing I can say to ease the loss, but my thoughts are with you 100%.
Jane, I'm so sorry to hear that.
I can't even imagine how sad you must be....I'll be thinking of you.
I'm very sorry, Jane.
When you're ready, I guess you try to focus on all of the good memories and how much happiness Robbie Sue brought you.

Jane, I don't know how you get over it. I've never had a pet that I expected would outlive me or one that lived more than ten or so years. I would guess it's very similar to getting over a person that you've know for such a big chunk of your life. It's going to take some time and, alas, probably a lot of grief.
Getting over a pet is one of the hardest things one can do, I think. Sometimes I think it's harder than getting over people.

Jane - I'm so sorry to hear this. I know how much he meant to you. That must have been horrible for your friend as well. My good thoughts and wishes travel with you.

As you may know, Tazber passed away in November. He was with me for 18 years. I miss him every day, but in time the pain does ease a bit.
I wish I could say something to help you right now but grieving is the first step.
Jane, I'm so sorry for your loss.
Thanks so much. And PJ, that was the most beautiful poem. I'm sitting here crying in the terminal but i don't care.
Jeez, this is hard.

Let the tears flow, Jane.
Sending you all the virtual love and hugs.
I am letting them flow, Q. People are staring, but so what?
*big hug*
So sorry to hear of your loss.
I'm so sorry about your loss. Pets are our family as well, so I totally understand your grief.

Oh no, Jane. I'm so sorry to hear this. You were very lucky to have had such a loving pet be part of your life for thirty years. He was just as lucky to have had you. Sending lots of love your way. XOXO
I'm so very sorry for your loss. Robbie Sue knew he was loved, know that.
I'm so sorry, Jane. I know you will always embrace the memory of the love and joy you brought to each other for so many years.
Love and Hugs,
Matt
Jane, I am so sorry for your loss. It is amazing how much our pets become a part our life.
When I had to deal with this, the Rainbow Bridge site actually provided me some release and comfort.
And, as for the tears, let them flow.
