I thought they were back on track tonight. Lots of really funny detailed stuff and a couple of genuine belly laughs.
And I love Celia Weston as Cam's mom. Glad to see her back.

And not to threadjack, but I think I'm the only person who genuinely likes SUPER FUN NIGHT.

Me, too, Reg! I think we were all posting at the same time.

Last night was hilarious! I also loved The Middle - we ARE that family!

I feel about "The Middle" the way I always felt about "Scrubs": I never think about it, and I don't make a point to watch, but I always really, really enjoy it.

Am I the only one who found this week's episode about as mildly enjoyable as last week's? And I'm surprised, because this season (before these two blunders) has been really excellent. The Cam-Mitch proposal scene was really fine TV writing. I don't think Modern Family has jumped the shark-- though I would love to see the baby's "Manny" character shot into the swimming pool ala Joe Gillis and then have everything back to normal the next week.
And I cannot stand THE MIDDLE. Never found it funny. The daughter's character repulses me. Patricia Heaton ALWAYS has bugged me since ...RAYMOND. I'm in the minority.

It was great to see Anne Gilbert working again! I did some productions with her back in college and she just seems to go on forever!

I'm cracking up at tonight's episode! Love it so far.

Not me. I think that episode was just terrible. The show is currently running to the homophobia well more frequently than Alec Baldwin. And it's just bizarre having the homophobic stuff coming out of the sibilant mouth of the actor playing Luke.

I agree. I kept waiting for him to get called on it. But no.

Is the actress playing the youngest daughter pregnant?

I think she's just put on a bit of weight.

Mrs. Brd and I had a debate about her age. She thought that she was still a teen.
I enjoyed the show. I have had a great Fall of high school football games and I love Cam's new role.

Talking of weight, I thought Dylan looked scary-skinny.

That horrid buzz cut didn't help things, Reg. LOL
The last three episodes have really fallen flat for me. As a diehard Modern Family fan, I look forward to sitting down every Wednesday night to watch. But my interest is actually starting to wane. Surely they can get back on track soon? Maybe the upcoming holiday/winter break will be good for the show.

I really liked the prior episode, where they go to Cam's family's farm. I LOVE Celia Weston as his mom.
But this episode was like the one prior to that: It seems as if every other episode is being written by someone who's never seen the show before.

Yeah. The Alex character would be totally fooled by her sister writing sexually related graffiti about her and would be thrilled by its existence.
