I've Resigned!

...and I feel like a million bucks (well - at this very moment, anyway!)...I have finally had it up to HERE with my moronic, closeted, schizophrenic, possibly alchololic boss who has driven me mad for the past two and a half years...I went over her head to our head of HR and outlined all the attrocities that have been ladled on my head for the entire length of my employment and told him that I just cannot stand for it anymore. I'm rather proud of myself - sure, I'll be unemployed for a while, but that leaves me open to whatever the universe tosses my way - and to quote a friend of mine: "I've put myself in a state of Miracle Mindedness...meaning, Miracles are gonna starte to come my way any minute now." I like that idea and I'm sticking to it.
Not sure why I posted this here - but surely there must be others in the same boat who simply had to stand up for themselves and not continue to allow the disrespectful treatment. How can I love and respect myself if I allow others to treat me in a negative way?
I'm Mad as Hell and I'm not Gonna TAKE IT anymore!!!!]
Whoo Hoo!!! Go Me!!!
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" re: I've Resigned!

Thank you all! I couldn't do it without the support and love of my friends and family. I am on the verge of becomming a better person because of this (isn't that what life is all about? Growth and fulfillment??)...I tell ya - this is empowering as hell - and its unlike anything I've felt before (ok - not as fun, perhaps, as being up on that stage at the Duplex singing my heart out - but good for me in a very different way!)
Thank you all again from the bottom of my fuzzy redheaded heart!

re: I've Resigned!

*runs to window, throws it open, shouts*

Program Director: Take 2, Cue Howard.

Beale: I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It's a depression. Everybody's out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel's worth; banks are going bust; shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter; punks are running wild in the streets, and there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there's no end to it.

We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat. And we sit watching our TVs while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that's the way it's supposed to be!

We all know things are bad -- worse than bad -- they're crazy.

It's like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don't go out any more. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we're living is getting smaller, and all we say is, "Please, at least leave us alone in our own living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my my steel-belted radials, and I won't say anything. Just leave us alone."

Well I'm not going to leave you alone.

I want you to get mad!

I don't want you to protest. I don't want you to riot. I don't want you to write to your Congressman, because I wouldn't know what to tell you to write. I don't know what to do about the depression and the inflation and the Russians and the crime in the street.

All I know is that first, you've got to get mad.

You've gotta say, "I'm a human being! My life has value!"

So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go the window, open it, and stick your head out and yell,

"I'm as mad as hell,

and I'm not going to take this anymore!!"

WAY TO GO Redhot! You inspire me!

Pardon my glib moment. I am glad you feel so relieved to be free from the horror of your job and here's to the future. Onward and upward, redhot.

re: I've Resigned!

Good for you, Redhot!

Before you find you're a dull fellow,
Punching the same clock,
Walking the same tight rope
As everyone on the block.
The fellow you ought to be is three dimensional,
Soaking up life down to your toes,
Whenever they say you're slightly unconventional,
Just put your thumb up to your nose.
And show 'em how to

Dance to a new rhythm,
Whistle a new song,
Toast with a new vintage,
The fizz doesn't fizz too long.
There's only one way to make the bubbles stay,
Simply travel a new high way,
Dance to a new rhythm,
Whistle a new love song,
Toast with a new vintage,
Open a new window ev'ry day!

Big BIG hugs for redhot! Way to go. Life is way too short. Best of luck, and I'll be thinking very good thoughts for you.

Joey... those of us "of a certain age" know that line!
