Seriously, it's a program where you can keep the insurance that your company had you on for 90 or 180 days or something after you leave the job, but they charge you up the wazoo for it.

Tinny, aren't you too young for a mid-life crisis? What ever you do DO NOT get a tattoo(especially of a school of dolphins jumping through the surf in a ring around your arm, it will not only be passe in a year or two but it hurts like a MotherF*CKer), buy a sports car or dump your current older lover for a cute young thing. Take it from one who knows, you will regret it later.

Now get back to work and apologize to the bitch, tell her you were wrong and were just having a bad day and would like to wipe the slate clean and start all over. DO IT NOW!

Phew! I thought it was just me Sueleen! Tinny! Have you seen the job market lately? The only people I have ever known who managed to get by while spouting that sort of Lousie Hay "if I am open to the perfect job coming into my life it will happen but if it does not I am not open enough" kind of thing are people who also have trust funds. PLEASE tell worried Namo that you have a trust fund?

Sueleen does make a point. I don't know what type of job you are in, but the market in certain fields is dead.

I'm sort of hearing some Abba at the moment:

No, not just you Namo. I found the encouragement from everyone a little frightening. Of course, I have no idea what RedHot and Joey's situation is. I can only hope that there was some thought and planning behind this. Quitting a miserable job abruptly can make you feel very liberated and in control (I did it once and it felt great) but, after a day or so, you realize that the bills are still coming in and the paycheck isn't.

For those who are currently "job shifting," I heartily encourage the 5 O'Clock Club and the series of books by Kate Wendleton. Far from being the Louise Hay-ish psychobabble Namo quite rightly derides, Kate's work provides an excellent way of finding the right place for yourself.

I am not being mean. I am just trying to pass on the wisdom that comes with middle age to the younger generation. Remember, some of us have lived through this (some more than once) and since this board is all inclusive of age, I thought I would take the occasion to enlighten the less enlightened. I would not want the flame of passion to be distinguished. "Pay it Forward" is my motto. Now I am gonna go have a glass of lemonade, just made some fresh from the lemons life's been handing me lately.

Oh Papa, what are we going to do with you? Now, I was not being mean, just expressing some concern. It's very easy for people to applaud you doing something like that when they are employed and doing well. We all love to see someone tell the boss to shove it but, the person who actually does it, needs to be prepared so that they don't end up in financial diffculty.

See, that's something a left wing, republican,war supporting Bush loving guy like you would not understand. There's a high level of unemployment out there and very little in the way of safety nets for those trying to follow their dream.
