The talented Luke Stephenson wrote it. He's a godsend.
What did he write it for?
It's for our musical!
Ooh congrats Austin that you are pushing ahead on this and have found some more collaborators!
I had an extremely profound and inspiring week that prompted me to reassess a lot of things and is getting me to take my writing very seriously. I had the chance to workshop, perform and generally get my stuff out there and see how audiences and industry people were responding it, and the feedback made me realize that there is nothing I love more than to entertain and move and audience with a song I write.
I realized that what is always bringing me down is the fact that I have yet to find a book-writer that I clicked with, which means I can only go so far as a songwriter without getting stumped and stuck in any given project. So I decided to attempt a slightly more realistic and achievable goal of writing a song cycle. The whole overall skeleton of it fell into place VERY quickly and within an hour I had completed almost a whole song...as well as very very vaguely planned out the concepts and structures for other at least half a dozen others.
I just pray I stay this motivated, because I tend to be one of these people that gets really passionate about a project but I burn out...which is a reason I really need a collaborator (I am in the process of trying to nab one I met recently that I clicked with) to help keep me on target.
Wow...I have no idea where this post even came from. Its late and and when I am super tired and I tend to just write stream of consciousness-style. Night all!

Thanks! We're lucky to nab Luke before someone else did. This is his first foray into writing for the stage, too.

I'm the same way. I'll work nonstop on something for a few weeks and then dry up. This hasn't happened with the musical, yet. I'm still outlining act 2. Writing a musical is hard.

Morning/Afternoon my crazy peeps!
Matty,
Long time no talk. What are you up to these days?
Akiva
Same ol, same ol.
How is TO treating you?
Meh,
The theatre scene here is pretty rapidly crumbling as of this month so there is lots of drama, and unfortunately none of it seems to end up ONstage. But I am doing my thing and seem to be getting noticed more and more for my work.
Have you designed any sets recently?
Akiva
Good for the latter!
I have not. I was going to put up The Pajama Game, but I think that fell through. Oh well.
Hey kids!
TRANNY FIERCE!
Oh man...your bold-graphic style would suit Pajama Game SO perfectly. That sucks. You should build a model anyways for portfolio reasons of how you WOULD have done it.
Hi Jaily.
Akiva
Thanks!
a model? ugh that is so much work.
Its a REALLY good tool for not only communicating a design to directors, collaborators, scene shop and cast, but also for yourself so that you can get an idea of the 3D space. Designing only on paper leads to very flat, frontal designs. Sketches lie and then you get a design up on stage and it isn't what you expected...I learned this from experience.

Hi, Kivypoo :) *bats eyelashes*
yeah, I know. But I'll end up cutting myself with an X-acto. haha
