Yes, it's really what it means. It's hard to explain. Fancy a ruby, is short for fancy a Ruby Murray. Murray rhymes with curry, which is what the Brits call Indian food. It's cockney rhyming slang. Bees and honey = money. 'ave a butchers = have a look. Butchers is short for butchers hook which rhymes with look. No one has more slang expressions than the Brits. Americans don't even come close.
