I will continue to work at the theater and on weekends, I go to the shore.
I love the summer!

Working at a summer camp again specializing in providing one to one support for children with disabilities. There is a drama area at camp that kids go to once a week where they get to do skits, and as counselors we put on skits for the kids during campfires and all-camp games. Does that count?
Does that COUNT? Of course! It is probably the best theatre any of us will be involved with all summer!

I'll hopefully be going to NYC to see GG and Gypsy for my birthday in July.
Continuing voice lessons.
School work.
Not the most exciting summer, but if I can go, Gypsy and GG will make it ALL worth it

I think I'm running the school library during summer school....which will be interesting, since I'm the music teacher...LOL.
I'll keep teaching voice lessons for any of my students that want them over the summer.
I'm planning on auditioning for a community production of "Cinderella". Who knows what will become of that?

If only I knew.... if only I knew.
Picking up another retail job to replace the one I just quit, then picking up ANOTHER job to fill the monetary void that summer leaves me in as a teacher.
I am also in a production of Oklahoma! which will be incredible, I'm sure. I've worked with the director before, he does stunning work and he makes the process such a joy.
And I will be auditioning my arrrrrssseeeeee off trying to get as many of my gigs for next year lined up as I can by the end of summer.
Unfortunately summer stock is almost non-existent in this area and I have too many financial commitments that keep me chained to this area, so I can't travel to find work.
Suck.

"it doesn't work out, I'll be working as a day camp counselor for kids and adults who are mentally, behaviorally and physically challenged,"
No way - there's a BWW Day Camp?? Sign me up!!

Posted: 4/27/07 at 8:34pmWanted to go to Innerspark summer arts program for high school students at the Cal Arts campus, but got rejected this afternoon. I honestly have no idea. Feeling a bit worthless, to tell the truth. Summer sounds depressing, nearly as depressing as high school.

I used to live by Cal Arts. Its a good school- to liberal for me. (and thats saying something) The theatre program is good- but they have no musical theatre.
which was my main deterrent from going there.

MOVING TO NEW YORK CITY :).
And hopefully, interning at a Broadway production company and working selling merchandise at a Broadway show.
This would be perfection.

No theater work for me. I will be re-doing my garage, working in the yard, sitting on my butt with a pomegranate (sp) mojito and enjoying the Summer days. I have 4 weeks off during the Summer and I plan on enjoying them to the fullest! I hope you all have the best time doing what you are planning to do this Summer. My middle name will be "relaxation" this season.

Posted: 4/27/07 at 11:40pmDamnit, these internships etc. sound like fun but there isn't any theatre in my town!!! Argh. I also have no money or transportation. Perhaps I shall direct something with my drama friends that still remain in town and perform it... if I can find a venue. Or we could do it outside... theatre in the park!
#41re: It's that time of year!
Posted: 4/28/07 at 2:38amI'm definitely applying for a bunch of theatre internships next summer but this summer I'm doing a May term in Spain and Morocco and if they ever get back to me, maybe volunteering for BC/EFA before I go abroad.

I'll be hitting the gym alot this summer to lose weight and buff up come September for Bat Boy auditions. I'm also going to try and get a job at either Best Buy or Pet Smart.
I'll be going to the movies for Spider Man 3, Pirates 3, Shrek 3, The Simpsons Movie, Evan Almighty, and probably Halloween. I hope to see in NYC over the summer Curtains, Grease, Jersey Boys(again), and Spring Awakening(again).

I leave for Germany on May 21st and will get back on the 31st. In July I'm going to Maui for a week with my family. Then in August, I am FINALLY moving out of my parents house into an apartment on campus with my BFF.
Other than that, I will be working almost full time at the Bux and hopefully doing a show at the Children's Theatre. And reading the new Harry Potter, of course.
I also plan to get back on Weight Watchers. These 50 pounds need to come OFF!

Posted: 4/30/07 at 8:58amWorking my retail job for awhile, and taking two weeks to go visit family in Boston. Then I start my first EQUITY GIG!!! YAY!!! I'm doing a production of Lucky Stiff in a nearby resort town. The best part of that is my best friend has a cousin who has a house right with its own stip of private beach. Rehearse all day, then go relax on the beach all night. Then flop it once the show opens. Ah, the perils of being in the theatre.

Of all the tacky Rath posts, and they have been legion, the one Posted On: 4/27/07 at 07:40 PM is a new low, even for she.
I may be doing something with one of the last great summer stock companies in the country. Fingers crossed!
