This girl knew exactly what she was doing. Read the story.
Yes, he should have known better and sent the young lady away.
Hopefully, James has learned his lesson.

Old news, same arguments.
Moral of the story: Don't have sex with minors. Duh.
Case closed.

He's at Rikers.
And the only reason I know this? We have a family friend who just got out (8 months for tax evasion) and he mentioned that they were expecting "the Beauty and the Beast guy who raped the teenager" to come into that building soon (soon being yesterday).
Our friend was one of the few white people, and "nobody there looks kindly on pedofiles", so Barbour better not be racist, as well.

Yeah, I wouldn't slap him away.
Not that I'm trying to be socially unacceptable.
And with a voice like that?
Psh.

What I find interesting is that if these events took place one birthday over and on her 16th birthday then this wouldn't have been an issue. I think only because the age of consent in NY state is 16.
I still feel that it was the girl who took things too far and is trying to play the card of " How much can I get away with here."
Even though I though I do think that this is VERY wrong. I am still wondering how much at fault he is. I think that you can say that he is the adult in this situation so he should have known better but it is not like the girl wasn't at an age that she didn't know what it was she was doing. I do think that people in these situations have to always stop staring at the adult and look at the age of the other person involved.

This answer is unequivocal: He is 100% at fault. 100%. 100, not 99 or 99.99. He is 100% at fault.

As a high school teacher whose female students are mostly all strumpets, I know how aggressive these gals can be. It also seems that in Barbour's case, the female had a touch of Eve Harrington in her. Still, what he did is wrong and, although I sincerely wish him well, he's got to pay his bebt to society.
The next two months are not going to be easy for the guy.

Exactly. He was a 35 year old man who knew that she was 15, and he knew he was breaking a law. Cut and dry.

I think it is 100$ his responsibility also!!! Though the 15 year old girl knew exactly what she was doing probably..... He should have been the one to not take it to that level....

What's interesting? It is what it is, and it is for a reason.
