I just saw this on the news, and it makes me sick.

I feel horrible for her. Nobody should have to go through this in their lifetime.

UPDATE: A police source said the suspect is in custody and is being questioned. The source said, however, that the boy was not found with the suspect. Police continue to look for the boy. Details to come.

Oh my goodness, I cannot even begin to fathom what that must be like. Something like that should never have to happen to anyone, ever. My thoughts and prayers are with her.

All the news reports from Chicago are saying about the "domestic abuse" is this:

William Balfour, a man suspected in the deaths, was arrested Friday but had not been charged, law enforcement sources told the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times.

Police spokeswoman Monique Bond said investigators were talking to "a number of people in custody" but she declined to elaborate. An Amber Alert issued Friday said Balfour was a suspect in the double homicide.

Here's more on Balfour. He sounds horrible. The worst part is that they think Julian, the missing 7-year-old, must have witnessed the murders.

He said police are likely questioning Balfour's acquaintances. "I'm sure they have gotten his cell phone and know everybody he has talked to or texted the last 28 to 48 hours."

Records from the Illinois Department of Corrections show Balfour, 27, is on parole and spent nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possessing a stolen vehicle. Public records show one of Balfour's addresses as the home where Donerson and Jason Hudson were shot.

Police say Balfour took Donerson's 7-year-old grandson Julian King with him when he fled.

Balfour's mother, Michelle, said her son had been married to Hudson's sister, Julia, for several years, but they were separated. She also said Donerson had ordered him to move out of the family's home last winter.

The Cook County medical examiner's office said autopsies for Donerson and Jason Hudson were pending.

The boy, who may have witnessed the murders, has not been found.

This is truly tragic. I'm sure Jennifer would give the Oscar, the money, the fame...everything back just to have her mother, brother and nephew back. My heart goes out to her. She didn't deserve this.

If you are not from Chicago and have only seen that beautiful big white house on TV, you probably don't realize what a terrible, crime-ridden area Englewood is.

Jon - i read about that and wondered why her mom would still be living there. I then read online that she liked her community and wanted to stay close to her church. The story gets worse as the details keep coming in.

I'm with everyone in sending out my prayers and thoughts for Jennifer. Everything was going great for her this year. And I sincerely hope her nephew, though surely traumatized from witnessing the slaying, is found safe and sound. Jennifer didn't deserve this chillingly dark and sad moment.

CNN is reporting that the SUV connected to the case has been found and the ME is checking reports of a child's body inside.

Absolutely heartbreeaking.

While my heart breaks for Jennifer, her sister Julia must be devastated knowing her child, mother, and brother were killed by the man she married and brought into the family.

The total disregard for human life makes my heart ache so much, not just for J. Hudson but for anyone, famous or not who has to endure anything even remotely like this.

Oh my god. I am sitting here with my hands in my head. I was praying and hoping the little boy was hidden somewhere for ransom or who knows what. I could not imagine the same monster who did this to her mom and brother would do the same to a 7 YEAR OLD CHILD!! 7 years old child!!! Jesus Christ almighty.

This is devastating. Jennifer, must be... i cannot even imagine.
