Bad publicity stunts....
Good God, she screwed it up WITH a telepromter....
I'm just waiting for Jessica's biopic were she reveals that she has dyslexia and couldn't read the teleprompter -- the words just kept going back and forth and up and down and back and forth and up and down.
y'all can say what you will but no amount of bashing can take away the magic that is "baby, it's cold outside" by jessica simpson and nick lachey.

Now, "Baby it's cold outside" as sung by Jessica Simpson and Dolly Parton-- that would be worth listening to....
No,no..."Baby it's cold outside" sung by Nick and Drew Lachey.
With an explicit music video...
I guess Jewel wasn't available. She would have been the perfect interpreter of a Parton song-a girl with a guitar. Also, who the hell picked Nine to Five-Dolly's most notorious sell out and biggest hit. As a HUGE Dolly fan, they could have gone with a simpler, nuanced piece that shows off Dolly's talent as an intropective songwriter more ("I Will Always Love You", "Coat of Many Colors", "Jolene")
Also, Aretha was a hot mess. When she was improvising Smokey's song, it sounded like she was gargling a McNugget.
Bettyboy, I came very close to suggesting Jewel as a much more appropriate choice for the Dolly portion just a moment ago!
Her or some other pseudo-folk person like Tori Amos or even Sarah McLachlan. Anyone with a modicum of talent and voice would have done.

i feel sorry for Dolly that Simpson was even chosen ....Dolly deserves THE BEST.
...& another thing: what would Simpson even *KNOW* about working "9-5"????
What would Dolly know about working "9-5"? Besides being in the movie...

Only working 9 to 5 would have been a lazy day for Ms. Parton.
"Good God, she screwed it up WITH a telepromter...."
Give the kid a break...what good is a telepromter if you can't read yet?
Hee hee hee
I wonder what would Muscle say?
This:
She is a beautiful girl and extremely talented and her new album is amazing. You need to realize that yes, JEssica Simpson's a star, but she's also a human being and she can make mistakes. I'm sure she was just nervous.
"extremely talented"?
I guess if your standards are really really really really low.
"but she's also a human being and she can make mistakes. I'm sure she was just nervous."
And probably ill-prepared. I wonder how many "stars" have flubbed the lyrics to a song they knew they were going to perform live...with cue cards in front of them...at the KENNEDY CENTER HONORS...in front of the person they were "honoring"...without being able to cover the flub or recover in any way.
Yeah, J-Simp was the picture of pure professionalism. Especially the way she just stopped and then ran off stage. Just like Streisand would do.
Mister Matt, that's not my opinion. I was saying that that is what Muscle would have said. See above.
brava, munk! now can you do that chick that was defending michael richards over and over and over on here by saying he was just trying to be "funny."
"I wonder how many "stars" have flubbed the lyrics to a song they knew they were going to perform live..."
Well, Leslie Uggams comes to mind. Check her out on 'that site' singing "June Is Busting Out All Over"
'With the Heebies and be-jesus and waka waka waka'
"Mister Matt, that's not my opinion. I was saying that that is what Muscle would have said. See above."
Uh, I KNEW THAT!
Whatever!
SHUT UP!!
well....
I just don't want to talk about it!
*quickly turns and runs from the room sobbing dramatically*
(door slam)
Wow, Mr. Matt, you do Jessica REALLY, REALLY well!
Maybe he ran out to go watch Leslie....
It IS funny.
You are all GARGOYLES!
