I am finding myself attracted to this guy, for some reason. I find the show only occasionally funny, and he is not really my "type". He kind of looks like the grinch, but there is something about him...I can't explain it...I guess it's the idea that maybe in real life (and in bed) he is a crazed beast, or something like that. Am I the only one?

Is he the one who plays Sheldon?

Can't say I'm attracted to him, but someone give that man an Emmy! I've seen him in interviews and he's such a departure from Sheldon.

Yes, Jim Parsons plays Sheldon and Johnny Galecki plays Leonard. By the way, are we agreed that naming the lead characters Sheldon and Leonard is an homage to producer/director/actor Sheldon Leonard?

I think Sheldon is the funniest one on the show for sure. And that is probably right, MB. Although it may be a coincidence.

For what it's worth, wiki's page on Sheldon Leonard states that the characters are indeed a reference to him. So, if it's on wiki, it absolutely, positively might be true.

I have had a HUGE crush on him since the show began.

(Talk Nerdy To Me!)

And I see him all of the time at the Farmers Market.

Le sigh...

Count me in as one who is attracted to him. He and Craig Ferguson are a riot together.

Love the show, love him, love the whole cast, actually.

And for some unknown reason, I have a couple of friends that now call me Sheldon - much like I used to have friends who called me Niles (Frazier reference.)

I simply can't imagine why.

I'm so glad this show is getting more attention! I'm completely hooked on it, and I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who thinks Jim Parsons is cute, lol. I may or may not have had a crush on him since he was in Garden State.

Q - I can. re: Jim Parsons (Big Bang Theory)

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

I was one of the ones who went to college with him. Had a crush on him for a moment, too. He's such a cutie. Very happy and proud of him. He deserves all of this success.

I think he's just adorable, as both himself and as Sheldon. We're big fans of the show, especially my 17 year old daughter, a self-proclaimed "theatre and physics geek", who doesn't voluntarily watch any TV, but Tivo's Big Bang Theory.

I think the character Sheldon is the first in television history to have Ausperger's Syndrome. It didn't start that way, but Sheldon just sort of evolved into it. Brilliant. That is some kind of new territory.

I also think the character is the prissiest man on TV since Tony Randall in The Odd Couple.

And Johnny Galecki is too cute for words.

"I also think the character is the prissiest man on TV since Tony Randall in The Odd Couple."

Niles Crane needs to be in that conversation.

Edited to add support of Niles' prissiness:

I don't think I was at college the same time as Jim (or maybe I just didn't share any classes with him), but I do remember seeing him in The Pitchfork Disney at Stages Theatre back in 1998 (known as "James Parsons" back then and I don't remember him being so damn skinny). I believe he was dating someone I later directed in another show, which twisted into a rather tumultuous relationship.

Oh, and he was a Freshman at my high school when I was a Senior. Go Panthers!

I just got into the show this year, and think it's hysterical. And that Jim Parsons is just adorable.

You were, Matt re: Jim Parsons (Big Bang Theory)

He was a big man at the Daily Cougar at that time.

If you saw the Shakespeare in the Park production of The Tempest, he was Trinculo (I remember it well, because I had played that same part at another theatre earlier that year). That was '97 or so I think? Updated On: 8/13/09 at 08:17 PM
