He's making some good points and some horrible ones. I like some reform he's talking about in bueaucracy, but he seems hell bent on keeping the war going. The crowd who chants USA, USA everytime he takes a pause, is a scary bunch. Chanting USA doesn't make the country better.

It is long, boring, without real emotion and the applause is so scripted that is sounds like a laugh track.
He is not a weirdo like that freak Palin. I do not hate him, and I do not think that the repubs really like him.
He is an honorable American, but retire please!
Did you know that he was a POW?
I like John McCain but being a POW doesn't necessarily qualify you to be President or even a leader. I respect the man and his love of country. Just don't agree with alot of his policies.
John McCain was a POW???? Why hasn't someone mentioned that before? This changes everything.
That's the only "POW" in his speech!!!
I don't think how a person gives a speech dictates what kind of President they'll be at all. Obama doesn't blow me away because he has the gift of being a great orator. However, McCain has to have more substance and specifics to make his case, not repeating his experiences in Vietnam (another mistake)

Hrm... I think I've heard this speech before.
Oh, wait, they're the same bloody talking points GWB used in 2000, none of which he followed through with in any way.
He's also a maverick, in case you hadn't heard.
Except that W wasn't a POW; he was a SMACK.
Time for his cup of warm milk..

Only a divorced Republican can win this election! (Chris Mathews)
That is not "Barracuda" playing in the background???
Chris Matthews is a tool.
A POW AND a maverick??? Well boy-howdy! Why has this man not registered on my radar before? He sounds like just the right mixture of fresh ideas and "God and Country values" that I look for in a candidate! And who's the MILF standing just to the right of him? I'd hit that.
Really wonderwaiter...I was not aware that he was a POW and a Maverick??? and btw Sarah Palin is a reformer
Sarah Paliento is a reformer? Well, surely that will get the Hillary vote... in case the vagina wasn't enough.

That really breaks my Heart!
The Wilson sisters will never be the same again!!
My kids just got home (from "Back to School Night." I'm not kidding.) They walked into my room, and I pointed at the TV and said, "Look. It's John McCain." They both immediately shouted "BOOOOOO!" in unison.
Then my son asked, "Can't we get a John McCain shirt that his face in the middle of a red circle with a big line going through it?" (He's six. But he's got good taste.)
Miss Penny, I vote for your son!!!!

I think it was a huge bore up until the end...I'll admit I was moved when hearing him speak about what he went through. He'll never, ever have my vote, but he does have my respect for his service and his courage.
It's just such a disappointment, though...several liberal to moderate Republicans I know are disgusted. I kind of liked McCain once upon a time. Wouldn't the "maverick" move have been to select a Republican woman like Olympia Snowe? He's worked with her, he knows her, she's moderate and reasonable and experienced. Yeah, I know he's not pro-choice and she is, but still...he was considering Lieberman who was. It's like 2004 all over again, pandering to the ultra-religious right just so he can get their support.
Bleah.
MP's kids for president and VP...
did anyone else catch the sign that said "The Mavrick".
lol. god bless em'

I caught that too, pab!
One part that bothered me was when he talked about how he wanted to give Americans the freedom and choices they deserve. Except when it comes to choosing who they can love and marry. Except when it comes to control over their reproductive lives.
