Why is it so hard to provide SOME sort of link?
Am I the only one who doesn't get the Depp mystique?
No. And who the fu*k is Barnabas Collins?
The reluctant Vampire in Dark Shadows, the predecessor to Louis and Lestat.
I guess this means he won't be playing Carol Channing anytime soon.
Ugh, I cannot stand Depp... can't they just dress up a monkey to play the role? Both would overact the same amount!
I can definitely see him in that role~
I know, I know. Everyone is sick of Depp and Burton..I say BRING IT ON!!!
sexiest vampire ever..RAWR, I love that man!!
Wait.
Is this a remake of Hello Dolly!
Depp as Carol Channing as Dolly AND Barnabus!
It's BRILLIANT I say!
I'd rather see him play Channing.

Old news.
I'm totally over him. He's reached his saturation point.

Dark Shadows.
The only soap opera I ever liked.
Johnny Depp could be great if he plays it serious and skips the camp.
If you don't know who Barnabas Collins is, you are far too young to comment on this thread.
I used to race home after school to watch Dark Shadows.

What movies do you think he 'overacted' in?

I used to think Barnabus was IT.
Just fascinating.
Barnabas is STILL it.
And so is Angelique.
Angelina Jolie should play her in the film.
Who will play the others? How about Kevin Spacey as Roger Collins, Kathy Bates as Elizabeth Collins, and Julianne Moore as Julia Hoffman?

"Just fascinating."
Empty words from empty posters. They "really" "make you" "think."

Oooooh, I've watched this on DVD, thanks to Netflix (the series, that is)...this is kinda exciting.

Inspired casting
Anybody remember those two Dark Shadows movies that came out in the 70s with the tv cast? They were BIG.
While I think JD would make a good Barnabas, I'm just not sure about how successful a film of Dark Shadows would be. I remember rushing home from high school to see "Where the Action Is" and "Dark Shadows" every afternoon. The great fun in Dark Shadows was in looking for the many bloopers that appeared in nearly every show. Having the boom appear across the top of the screen became commonplace. I used to love watching someone go through a door, and then closing the door behind them. The entire wall would wave back and forth after the door closed! (I always hoped that the whole thing would come down some time!). The shadows of the offscreen cast and crew appeared often on the screen, and so many other things. I can't remember them all, I just remember that looking for them became the best part of the show. Take them all out and do a film? I just can't see it.
I also remember running home from school! It was on at 3 so we were lucky it we caught the entire episode.
Anyone else here from L.A? Do you remember at 3:30 on channel 7 they played a movie and it was almost always a Frankie and Annette beach movie? I loooooved those movies!!
They are just trying to latch on to the vampire fad. My mother, however, LOVED Dark Shadows. She'll love it.
