The thing I find most horrifying about the cougar-ization of society is how women themselves relish in the concept. I mean...yes. Let's compare ourselves to a solitary, predatory cat! That totally moves the women's movement forward.
As for your bday present...so sad for you!
But I'll gladly come over dressed as Big Edie and sing ANOTHER WINTER...
I know the song has a special resonance now that you're entering middle age.
That's really sad. Why is it (or does it seem) that most celebrity gossip mongers and paparazzi are gay men? We were once the pioneers of culture and taste....now it seems we're more and more vulture-pickers of straight artists accomplishments.
You should have slapped the fat right off 'em, Jerb.
And I'll dress up as lil orphan Tranny and sing "Tomorrow" in your honor. Cuz, bitch, you only "a daaaaaaaaaay aaaaaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!"
As for Saturday, I know. I know. But I can dream for a PS3 and a pony, too, huh?
I just need a car for nine weeks to take to Cape May. Let's dream together...shall we?
But borstal's gonna give me a nice, big ol bday present Saturday night!! I can't wait. I hope I can handle it.
Aren't you a little old for an eight-ball and a night at the West Side Club?
Oh, yer gonna git it, Jerby, make no mistake.
Perhaps robbiej would like to join us in our "birthday fun"?

It's so much nicer when all the city girls get along.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I've heard you are very good, borstal.
God, that WOULD be a party. Sadly, I think it's gonna be Luby's and checkers for me.
Who's therapist does Joanna play? I might have to see the movie for her and Mario Cantone alone!
And how, jrb. The women's ages and appearances are being picked apart to the extent that it's doubtful if the critics watched the movie or just skimmed the trailer. I hate the term "cougar," too. Just another dumb way to pick on women--have these critics looked in a mirror, lately?

GYPSY:
Joanna plays *SPOLIER* Miranda and Steve's therapist. But she's in the movie for about 30 seconds max.
Awww, she really has become the "parsely" as she describes in her broadway.com blog.
loved loved loved the movie
a whole **** ton of broadway faces:
Jennifer Hudson, Annaleigh Ashford, Lisa Krohn (waitress), Joanna Gleason, (I could have sworn) Stephanie J Block (when Charlotte stands up and announces Carrie's engagement), Daphne Rubin-Vega
(I'll try and remember some more I thought I saw)
Non-broadway I noticed the waitress when Charlotte sees Big is one of the girls in the clique on Gossip Girl (whose moms dress was stolen by Jenny).

Van Hughes was also the coat check boy and I had a gay gasp when I saw Sara Gettelfinger as a flight attendant.
Loved the movie and the midnight madness!

I'm sorry, I've just got to ask - what is the Jennifer Hudson Broadway connection?
Sarah Gettlefinger! That was the other I was thinking about.
On my way to the theater was a little glamorous as well. I saw Kurt Deutsch on the street, Brian Lowdermilk and then Kelli Carpenter (Rosie's wife).
Aside from Dreamgirls, she sang "Circle of Life" on a cruise ship.

Jerby, you just earned an extra special smack for that
And she cold-read the part of Jewel in the Encores production of Best Little 'Ho House.
And she was in that concert of Hair that happened recentlyish.

Saw the midnight showing, and then again today and loved it.
I can see people complaining about the fashion being unconventional, but I loved it and thought it brought a bit of uniqueness to the show. Patricia Field (wardrobe) is practically a goddess at everything she does. I also really enjoyed seeing the improvement on Miranda's wardrobe, as it didn't really seem to strengthen until the last few seasons.
Other than the fashion aspect (which is one of the things the show was very well known for), I really liked how they threaded the whole forgiveness theme throughout and hit you in the head with it at the end. I think that the writing on the TV show was more fresh, but the movie was still very well done and somewhat well written in my opinion.
I have so much to say but I'll keep it to myself, mainly because I don't feel like typing it all.
