Posted: 6/12/08 at 3:49pmmaybe she can develop a nasty drug habit and turn to hooking to supplement her income until she aquires a particularly virulent disease - from either sharing a needle or having unprotected sex with a great dane - that ravages her body and kills her by midway through the season. and then her body is devoured by the cougar.

Well don't forget, she has a past of being feisty with the powers that be, not only last year's contract dispute, but her contract dispute when she was on Roswell, when she made it clear she wanted to ditch after the end of her second year.
I'm positive it pre-emptive strike against the press (as well as the writers), because her material probably wasn't strong enough to warrant a nomination, and she wanted to let everyone know in advance that it was wasn't her fault.

I'm beginning to think maybe Sueleen is Kathy Heigel.

Well, she did ask to be let out of her contract which is not happening, so perhaps she is just asking to be written off the show. I do believe it's a dig at the writers, I'm not sure how to take it though. It shouldn't be making so much press anyways.
Most people who take their names off do it to give others a chance, the article on golderby mentions Candice Bergen and Bill Cosby.

It sounds obnoxious in print. It sounds even nastier when she actually says it.

I think a couple of things. If she really is being honorable, she could have worded things differently. Now, should anyone else from the show get a nom, it will be tainted. And she is ALWAYS biting the hand that feeds her AFTER it has fed her. She bitched about a pairing on Grey's after she said on numerous occasions that she was all for it, but only after fans turned on it. She was all in favor of the writer's strike until it got closer to the end and then she said she only did it because her boss told her to. "I certainly don't enjoy walking in a circle for hours." (Who does, moron?) She said she would never want to cross the picket line for the Golden Globes and then bitched about having to miss a great party afterward. When Isaiah Washington showed up at the picket lines at ABC, Sara hugged him and TR shook his hand. When asked about it, TR said it was great that he was there to support the writers. Heigl said, "I don't know what he's doing here. He's not with me!" and laughed. Class act. She badmouthed "Knocked Up," saying it was sexist long after the DVD sales hit. She just annoys me to no end.
This little thing was pretty funny...

Posted: 6/12/08 at 6:58pmThat's funny. Yeah, I knew what she said about "Knocked Up." If she really felt that way, she should not have signed on for it. Watch this, she'll find something wrong with "27 Dresses" soon. That movie I actually did like. But mostly for James Marsden. LOL!

Posted: 6/12/08 at 7:19pmHmm. I actually found it much more repugnant in print. Hearing it out of her mouth, it does seem like a jab at the writers, but there's letting out a barb like that in a planned interview and then there's being a little too unguarded when the paparazzi are following you and throwing questions at you. It's still a bad thing to say under any circumstances, but it does seem to be being blown a liiittle out of proportion.

Posted: 6/12/08 at 10:36pmThere's a big difference between actors who have won several years in a row and so decide to not submit their names for nomination and Katherine Heigl, who has only won ONCE. But even if she had made the announcement with reasons related to that, it would have been better than this passive-aggressive attack at the writers.

OH, and let's not another blunder. She was engaged to Jason Behr, her co-star on Roswell, and dumped him.
I mean, c'mon people. Talk about self-destructive behavior.

Posted: 6/12/08 at 10:52pmMaybe the squeaky wheel will get the grease, you never know. It's not like she's wrong about the stuff she complains about. But she does seem to be the only one in the cast who speaks up like that. Actually, not a lot of people in Hollywood talk like her at all. Maybe she'll shake things up, maybe she'll screw herself. At least she's doing something different...

Sandra Oh is the one with a real right to bitch. She's is a fantastic actress and she REALLY got screwed this season. Izzie had the George thing and the Callie confrontation and the damn deer thing and the patient with the bird thing. There were lots of long dramatic judgemental Izzie speeches. And no matter WHAT she did, it was seen as great. George, Bailey, Addison and the chief all patted her on the back whenever she was sad, which was often. Izzie had scenes. Cristina didn't do squat all year. Oh can act RINGS around Heigl and she had maybe one decent scene.
I just feel like it would be different if the whole cast and crew hadn't had to work around Heigl's movie schedule the past few monts. She should be gracious in public. If she wants out and they won't let her, I would just say she shouldn't have signed a seven year contract. Sometimes it sucks for you, but that's why contracts are there. If she's such a success, suck it up and get sued.

You know, I'm all for artistic integrity and whatnot, and I'm not usually one to have sour grapes of the fabulous lives of show biz people, and I'm sure she works hard and all when she's not tellin' it like it is (you go, girl!), but she makes a lot of money to do what she does, and also makes a lot more money than the people writing those crappy parts for her. I'm not sure what this expose nygurl is alluding to is. Sometimes a job sucks? Boo hoo, Kathy. There's a recession going on, for god's sake!

True dat, JerseyGirl2.
Seriously, Sandra Oh should've won last year for that season finale alone. It was impeccable. And she took her lackluster writing this year and made it shine. AND Oh, like the rest of the cast, knows it's an ensemble show and that she has to wait for her turn at bat like everybody else.
That's called talent and humility, Heigl! Look it up.

Yep, that was basically her one scene all year. Cristina did, however, have the line of the year. When "really old guy" had the attack when Izzie was pulling the sensors off of him, Cristina said, "What's the matter, couldn't find is LVAD wire?" Yep. Wins.
Well, "Don't you dare come to me for forgiveness, you traitorous bitch," was pretty good, too. See? All the good lines were at Izzie's expense! She had scenes!

Maybe they could just give her a spin-off where she complains for half an hour each week.
She was in the Romy and Michelle prequel for Chrissakes!

Yeah, that show would get cancelled within 1 episode. LOL! The majority of people don't give a crap anymore. Or at least I don't.
If anyone from Grey's should get nominated for great performances in multiple episodes this season, for me, it would be Ellen Pompeo (Yes, even though I do not like Meredith,) Chandra Wilson, and Sara Ramirez. Again, this is based on multiple episodes, but I know that is not how the Emmys work. Sandra Oh is good too, but I do agree she was not given enough, but she certainly does have some material worthy to be considered.
