I have to say, I'm really, really enjoying the show. Just watched the second and third episodes with my friend.

Just awful. I predict 8 episodes and done. It's just so awkward and badly acted; plus it seems like it is trying too hard.

No nerves struck. Just putting it out there a la The Secret.

"Looking" premiered in the UK last night, I loved it. So there.

I watched the second and third episodes last night, and had mixed reactions to them. The second episode really seemed so eager to avoid the cliches of Making The Characters All Gosh-Darn Lovable that they started to make the characters Really Quite Unpleasant. And it had the first really phony moment in the series so far -- Jonathan Groff very carefully maneuvering that coffee cup to make sure that the logo it bears was ever so clearly visible to the camera.
The third episode warmed up considerably, I thought. Russell Tovey is a welcome addition to just about anything. I'm interested enough to keep watching, even if I'm not crazy about the direction Agustin's character seems to be heading in.

Agreed about the third episode seeming to gel much better than the first two. Even so, the characters just seem so unlikeable and unbelievable. I think Groff is the weakest of the bunch and that is throwing the whole series off.

I think Groff's got a tough part -- playing someone so hopelessly maladroit can't be easy at the best of times, and his considerable physical charms can't be helping, the expectation that someone so gorgeous would have better social skills only makes it more difficult when it comes to sheer believability.
The cringe factor on the show is pretty severe -- are these guys going to make a single decision that isn't stupid, mortifying, or potentially catastrophic? Well, it seems that Patrick has, at least at the end of the third episode...

Looking's second episode jumped nearly 25% ratings wise. I think, the way HBO is working with their 30 minute series, it will get at least a second season (Enlightened just continued to drop, and did and had lesser reviews--slightly.)
Thanks to everyone here for letting me know episode 3 was released. I felt like the show really started to come together--the second episode had me slightly worried.

So "Bates", if you despise the show so very much, why do you keep watching it -- just to say, "Told you so!"?

Sometimes shows improve. Sometimes they don't. It's not all about you.

Well, yes, I can clearly see how I made this about me.

I can't see anyone thinking the show will seriously improve, or the opposite, unless it's a Ryan Murphy show.

You mean if like Ryan Murphy got hit by a bus and his show(s) continued without his involvement?
I actually thought that LOOKING was already gelling nicely by the second episode. Just saw the third episode and I'm all in for the rest of the season. Really enjoyed it. I'm very interested to see how the Russel Tovey/JGroff dynamic plays out. And as for Tovey. Uff. He can have it. It's rather telling that when **** hit the fan for Agustin, he went back home to Patrick instead of to his boyfriend. Also, kudos to whomever casted Scott Bakula in that very small role of the older gay man. Really smart casting of an actor best known for his "tv hunk" days in the late 80s/early 90s.

I have a feeling we're going to see a lot more of Bakula. (But I did love seeing him!)
(Psst: casted isn't a word. A huge pet peeve of mine.)

Ugh. Yes, you're absolutely right. What a stupid error. Can we blame it on the fact that I'm staying up late to pick up a friend from LAX? Sure, let's go with that. Yeah, I think you're right that we'll see more of Bakula.

Well, ask a friend for his HBO GO password. HBO knows that people share their accounts and the CEO himself said he doesn't care. For now at least. And, no, you can't have mine.

Not only did he look magnificent in that towel, but there was all kinds of subtle acting stuff going on. I hope he and Dom have a mad, passionate, mature-man affair.
