I personally don't mind it for the most part--I think it's natural for a thread to, say, go into some discussion of other gay shows/films it reminds people of or they love/hate in comparison.

"annoyingly that's gotten a ton of press yet in the article they don't mention him on Looking."
How much screen time has he had in total? 8 minutes?

9:48 I believe. I dunno, the articles have all spoken about how it's his big TV comeback. I know he also was a lead on that basic cable comedy about middle aged men that I never watched due to Ray Romano being on it a few years back, too... I suppose they mean his comeback as a big network tv star. And it's NCSI (a franchise I've never even seen a minute of, unless ads count) so will probably tie him up for a decade.

He's very versatile. He could easily do another 13 minutes for Looking on one afternoon off from CSI, which could cover him for seasons two and three.

Yeah, but he's arguably the biggest name on the show, has played a crucial part in Dom's arc and has been the show's only significant connection to an older generation of gay men.

I swear to Christ this show is a Rorscahch test. Dom doesn't have an arc, he has the C subplot.

Ha!
I just strikes me odd that his publicist doesn't throw into interviews and pieces on him something like "oh, mention that he's also currently featured on an HBO show." Then again, maybe that's on purpose.

Probably. "He played a gay guy on HBO who was rejected by another gay guy in a bathhouse because the other guy only has sex with young guys."

Happy it got renewed. It peaked, creatively speaking, at the right time. That one week of True Detective, Girls, and Looking all just happening to have some of their strongest episodes consecutively got a lot of traction.
Most happy about who were upgraded to regulars.

Strummergirl - I think you're probably right about the synergy there between the show's Sunday lineup.

I kinda want Doris to get her own show.
'he has the C subplot.'
How can you say that, Namo??? Peri-peri chicken is a big f*cking deal!

This show is definitely a Rorschach test. There are people who are still in denial that Andrew Keenan-Bolger got butt-fucced and Jonathan Groff got rimmed.
THESE THINGS HAPPENED.
(Or did I imagine them?)

I'm confused, I thought everybody knew for a long time that Andrew Keenan-Bolger gets butt fuc ked. (Should there be a hyphen there?)

The most unbelievable thing in the series was Richie implying that Jonathan Groff tops.

To be fair, his character's friends all thought so too. I think it's meant to be the whole thing that he's not comfortable with himself yet to be intimate in that way, or something. Which I think holds some truth for some guys -- who probably would be more inclined to be bottoms otherwise. Topping is less personal to them or whatever. Then again a lot of people who aren't comfortable with themselves seem to randomly have bottom sex (is that a word) all the time, so...

Eric, I think you're taking Kad's post too seriously.
(not that I disagree with what you're saying).
Anyway, fingers crossed for a Dore Alley visit in s2!

I honestly have no idea where you get ideas like this.
