Season 4 has been the strongest after Season 1, I think the first season will be hard to beat.
I agree that they made a great job in explaining why Walt was not with him, though I really wish they hadn't shown the kid on the window since the actor was clearly not Malcolm David Kelley. They still have to explain why Walt looked so much older when he appeared to Locke (even Locke acknowledged the fact that he was "Walt but taller"). I miss Malcolm David Kelley, he had a really interesting character, and is a pretty good actor.
I disagree that the beginning of the season "was a bit like watching paint dry." I think it has been fantastic, especially since I looooooooove the four new characters, especially Charlotte and Daniel.
Anyone know if Zoe Bell is going to appear again? I mean...I don't see why she'd show up just to walk off the boat and die. And are there no more new episodes until the 24th of April?
I hope we do get to see more of her.
i think that poster meant to say that season 3 was like watching paint dry until the very end, which it was. This season has been riveting from the getgo.
The one thing that has bothered me recently is a story line that they seem to have forgotten. What, if anything, are they going to do about Darma/ the Hanso Foundation? That had better tie in to all of this somehow.
Oh, I disagree about Season 3, the first few episodes were pretty blah but after Kate and Sawyer escaped I thought it was quite fabulous (except for that ridiculous "Expose" episode).
So far I think Season 3 was the best, but I have a feeling this Season is about to get way more exciting when it returns...
I also love the new characters, especially Daniel. I do think this last episode was one of the worst in Lost history, and it was kind of random to have Karl, Rousseau, and Alex appear out of nowhere after we hadnt seen them in a while. The fact that they only appeared at the beginning of the episode and then were killed by the end felt very rushed to me, but I guess it had to be done. Also, I was wondering if anyone else had noticed that that definintely did not look like Walt in the window. Was that on purpose?? Or did they think noone would notice?
It's not the same actor, and it was really obvious. They had to explain Walt away somehow, but they couldn't not show him at all, so they used a long shot, hoping no one would notice.
I didn't think it was so obvious - I just thought it was an old shot of MDK that they stuck in - or that they actually somehow filmed that two years ago (I mean, if they knew the story back then as they've said....).
Expose wasn't a bad episode at all in and of itself. The characters were annoying as hell and needed to go, but the way they did it was as good as any stand alone episode of the X-Files. We're just accustomed to more mythological stories on Lost so it felt like a place holder. Go back and watch the episode again - the story telling is actually pretty solid...
I did go back and watched "Expose" a second time, and even though it does have pretty neat story-telling, a really heart-breaking moment at the end with Paolo's tears falling down as he is paralyzed, and it features one of my favorite scenes in the history of the show (Sun slapping Sawyer and telling him that if Jin found out about what he had done, they would have to dig another hole), I felt it was an incredibly unnecessary episode. I just didn't get why they brought in these two characters out of nowhere (pretending they had been there since the beginning) only to kill them off in an episode where nothing happened.
And it was somewhat obvious that they used a different actor for Walt, they couldn't use Malcolm so I understand why they did it.
I can't wait to learn more about Charlotte and her discovery of the polar bear. Rebecca Madden is my favorite new addition to the cast (LOST may have the strongest female cast of any TV drama on the air: Yunjin Kim, Elizabeth Mitchell, Evangeline Lilly, Rebecca Madden, Emilie DeRavin...)
why couldnt they use Malcolm?
Even though he looked much older...it would have been better than using a completely different person.

Malcolm is 16 years old and looks every bit of it, Walt is supposed to be 10 in the show, Malcolm was 11-12 during the first season.
That is what make-up is for...
but yeah, I understand why they didnt use him...
Kasie, if Malcolm were 30 and had to play twenty, then make-up might help, but his face has changed a lot since he was on the show. I mean after puberty, his face is completely different as well as his hair. It would have been too obvious.
I mean, like I said in another post, even when he appeared to John in "Through the Looking Glass" they had John acknowledge how different he was.
It's true. I guess I just wish they had used Malcolm because I loved him as Walt. I just hope we will be able to see him in other episodes (perhaps in upcoming flash-forwards...)rather than just short apperances by whoever they used last episode.
I hated Michael from the very first episode, but always thought Walt was a great character and of course loved Malcolm.
I am sure we haven't seen the last of Malcolm in the show though.

Both Danielle and Karl were shot on the right side of their chests. Perhaps they are not dead yet.
Hate to beat a dead horse, but that looks a LOT like the Walt we saw in season 1!
