What a weird interview. So far I've only learned a few things.
1. That Matt Lauer doesn't do research, since he said, "Cruising... whatever that is," as though he'd never heard the word before.
2. That I feel sorry for Larry Craig. Has there ever been another straight man so plagued by gay scandals throughout his entire life?
Matt's old enough to know a lot more then just the term "cruising." I wonder why he made that comment?

I'm gonna go with gay panic. "What? Why would I know some gay term?"

Years ago, when Matt was doing a show on the Travel Channel called "Travel, Travel". he was a regular at wrinkle bars in NYC. Places like Regents and The Town House.
He definitely knows what "cruising" is/
Is cruising ever a term applied to straights? "Cruising (for) chicks"

Gay panic. Shall we organize an email campaign? Shall we tell NBC that Matt Lauer is a shoddy journalist?

How sad that he couldn't tell his wife that he was falsely arrested right after it happened. I wonder why he'd be so embarrassed. When I get accused of something I didn't do you can't shut me up!

Well, it's over. As an American, I'm indignant that a white Christian h.e.t.e.r.o.s.e.x.u.a.l. like Mr. Craig went through what he went through.
There's a weird smell coming from my tv now. I'd swear it was the stench of shame and self-loathing, but that just doesn't seem right.

Yes, we know, dear.

I may be a lot of things, but I'm not a liar.
Oh, those Craig people just make me sad.

Matt Lauer is a notorious pvssy hound.

I honestly have never doubted Lauer's heterosexuality (and please, I think everyone is gay). I just found his whole "whatever that means" so odd and ... I want to say judgey? I thought he was better than that.

I found Lauer's comment to be more of a question on what they meant by "cruising" in this instance, not what it means in general. As if saying he was "cruising" is rather vague and he wishes they would have given more details. I love how they blew it off as just being a friendly neighbor!
I thought he did a fairly good job in the interview. He did not let him off the hook entirely. And I have to admit to getting the weensiest turned on as Matt demonstrated how the foot action works.
I do wish Matt would have asked him the question about why he would venture into the very public restroom when there is a lovely VIP lounge available to him? I wonder how far the bathroom is from the gate he was leaving from and if it was out of his way.
However, as for Craig, his shifty eyes and rehearsed speech were only made more disturbing by his mask of "pull up the cheek muscles and lift the eyebrows" to make him look a)not too worried, b)totally in love and/or c)hot.
Corine would never go for him, he had too much make-up on.
Poor Mrs. Craig, she needs another valium.

Oh, that could be it. I'll go with that. I don't like feeling like Matt is against me.
I wonder if Larry ever went to Crisco Oil Party.

On the bright side how hot was the arresting officer!? That's the first time I'd ever seen a picture of him. What is he 22, 23?

OMG, I totally missed that part. Damn.
From the very start of all this I did think he had a hot voice, and I hated myself a little for that. Probably not nearly as much as the Craigs hate themselves, though.
I actually saw this tonite. Larry Craig is clearly a self hating, undercover fag that is spinning so fast, I'm surprised he wasn't green and puking like a geriatric Linda Blair.
I can't find a bigger version, but here's the picture they showed...

Best quote: "He jerked me out of the bathroom..." LOL, TMI, OK?

With apologies to whoever posted this on Datalounge -- I just had to share it. Very well said:
"The question I would like to ask him is,
Having lived through the reactions from your fellow republicans--the complete and total contempt and ostracism you've experienced based on the smallest hint of homosexuality, do you now have a deeper understanding of what it must be like to live as a gay person in this country? Has it caused you to think more deeply about your own views of homosexuality and the mobilization of homophobia as a political device by your own party?"
AMEN.
As for the interview, I saw most of it, and it was an insult to my intelligence. Craig is so full of shame that common sense is gone, when it comes to his "alibi".
The other oft-heard comment of Craig's that really pisses me off is the whole "I don't agree with that lifestyle" thing. WTF does that mean, anyway? I know what they mean, but it's the most ridiculous over-used "sound byte".

In his exclusive interview with NBC’s Matt Lauer last night, embattled Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID) claimed that he has “never used the internet“
...
But as the Washington Examiner has discovered, Craig actually has extensive experience with the Internet:
• In an op-ed he wrote this summer on the SCHIP health care program, Craig refers to doing a Google search on the term “mission creep.”
• He’s a member of the Congressional Internet Caucus.
• He co-sponsored a bill designating June 2007 as National Internet Safety Month.
• He was presented with the 2007 Internet Keep Safe Coalition Award.
• On his Web site, he lists as a top accomplishment a Silver Mouse Award given to his site in 2003 and 2006 by the Congressional Management Foundation in 2003 and 2006.
• When he endorsed Mitt Romney for president, he did so on YouTube.

If Craig was a victim of profiling, why wouldn't he just butch it up, then?
i still can't get over picking up the toilet paper off the bathroom floor. i don't think i'll ever be able to get past that one

I think it's nice that he's concerned about litter.
