Just caught Laura Benanti as Melania Trump on Stephen Colbert last night and she is totally LOL funny! I didn't know she had done her before w/Colbert. LB really should take this opportunity and take advantage of it. She is a total scream...(give me a break, give me a break!) hahaha

One wonders what the reaction would be if a similar one was done on Hillary or Chelsea. No need to worry as it will never happen.

Firstly, Hillary is not the wife of a candidate. She IS the candidate. Secondly, Hillary is regularly impersonated on SNL, and not in flattering ways.

That, my friend, is debatable. Some believe Kate is cutting her slack. Others don't. That cannot be a 'fact,' since there is no way to determine.

Laura's queen of the internet today - seeing her everywhere. The impression and the likeness are fabulous. Wish the writing was as good as the impression, though. Maybe this exposure will finally get Laura a well written tv gig. Recurring on the next season of Kimmy Schmidt?

Who actually believes McKinnon is cutting Clinton some slack with her impression? Short of putting her in a prison uniform, I can't think how you could make that portrayal any less flattering. McKinnon plays her as a power-hungry monster who can barely interact as a normal human. It's brilliant and incredibly funny, but I fail to see how it is at all complimentary to Clinton.

Benanti was brilliant in this bit. Cecile Strong has played Melania on SNL before, but this impression was much better. They should definitely have her on if the opportunity comes up.

They haven't parodied Michelle Obama because the Obamas have managed to be many things, but one of those things isn't "ripe for parody."
