Letterman Vs The Palins

Faux outrage nothing more nothing less. Palin saw a perfect opportunity to get her name in the news for another cycle and took advantage of it.
You don't have to have more than an 8th grade education to know who Letterman was referring to. The unwed mother, with the bastard son.
Now that Letterman has offered her a guest spot and she has refused, I hope to God we never ever see her on his show. But my guess is, all will be forgiven by Sarah when it comes to running in 2012, and this will be simply passed off as a misunderstanding. The woman has all the sincerity and believability of a Miss Universe contestant, and seems to be just as opportunistic as the contestant that was just fired.

Yeah. And by then, Willow will have had a baby anyway.

"What if Letterman had said that about Dakota Fanning
What if Letterman had said that about Miley Cyrus
What if Letterman had said that about the Billy Elliots"
As usual for you, your argument makes no sense. All of the people that you name are public figures.
Willow Palin did not ask for this attention to be placed on her. She's a 14 year old girl who should be left alone to live her life privately.

Willow wasn't the subject
Bristol was
And Bristol IS a public figure based on her OWN public appearances around the country and on TV.
My argument is sound - tis your original logic which is faulty. Once again I put it to you that you can play the name game all day. Doesn't matter. The comments weren't directed at anyone BUT Bristol.

Goth, you are pathetic. This is one of Sarah's tricks. She did the same thing with the lipstick on the pig remark she made about Obama. This fake outrage of hers is disgusting. She is exploiting her daughter for her own gain. What a bitch. Her defenders are really running out of material.
Sarah can say Obama pals around with terrorist.
Palin blames Katie Couric for making her look stupid (the dumb bitch could not even tell answer a simple question like what newspapers do you read)
When ANYONE asks Palin a question she can not answer they are considered "Gotcha Questions"
This idiot loves to blame everyone. She can dish it out, but like most Republicans she can not take it. The bimbo should not even be in politics if she feels the need to address EVERY CRITICAL REMARK SOMEONE MAKES ABOUT HER!Seriously, anyone this thin skinned should not be in public service.
Oh, and Goth her 14 year old was not the one who had actually been "Knocked Up". That was the joke. That was the punchline, so if he were talking about the 14 year old, where's the punchline? It was the fact that her daughter (the same daughter she says should be off limits and then parades around during the campaign) had actually been knocked up,THAT WAS THE JOKE!
Any moron who can not put the two together really should not be left alone.
Dave handled her perfectly with wit and charm, making The Plains look even dumber than they already are:

It wasn't Bristol that was at the ball game. If an experienced comedian like Letterman can't get the punchline right, then he has no business getting paid.

That wasn't the punchline, that was the set-up. Such an esteemed expert on comedy as you Goth should understand such basic structure.

Of course Goth doesn't think the joke was meant for Willow. He is just repeating the FOX NEWS Talking points. They all do and think as they are told!
If Rush had said something similar about a Democrat's daughter the right would be saying "Rush is an entertainer, where's the left's sense of humor?"
Look at the sick things Bil O'Reilly, Glen Beck,Coulter, Limbaugh, and the other right wingers say on a day to day basis. This fake outrage makes them look Oh So Desperate!

Goth, Dave is a cranky old man of 62. The premise of his joke is that in the good old days, you could go to a Yankees game for a nickel and have change to buy an all-beef hot dog. Nowadays, you spend $75 and one of them prevert players comes up and tries to sex your young'uns.
I would think YOU of all people would agree.

#38re: Letterman Vs The Palins
Posted: 6/11/09 at 3:41pmNo one who saw that top 10 thought Dave was talking about Willow. Bristol sprung to mind immediately! Palin is more pissed off at her style sense being called that of a Slutty Stewardess!

Kathy Griffin is no fan of Sarah Palin's either. Here she is on David Letterman's show last night

Goth,When You Put Your 18 Year Old Daughter on the Cover of People Magazine Holding her out of wedlock child, then you open her up to criticism and jokes. You cannot have it both ways. The Obamas know this, and they do not exploit their children in this manner. Sarah and Todd Palin do. See the difference? Class vs. Trash!

David Letterman is my favorite man in the world (as well as my desktop background), and I'm a huge fan of this whole thing. I just want to say that I think those of you claiming he apologized are insulting him. Letterman would never say he was sorry about something like this. If you had watched his show, rather than just read a summary in an article, you'd see that he only tells the jokes again, clarifies their meaning, and confirms that they are definitely in questionable taste like everything else he's ever done. He knows the Palins' outrage is completely fake, and he's gladly working it for as much comedic value as he can. So please don't think he apologized to her.

Posted: 6/11/09 at 7:41pmThe Palins lose here, for several reasons. They come across as petty, picking a fight with a comedian over a perceived injustice that no rational person would see. Letterman may be guilty of getting the facts wrong about which daughter was at the game; that still makes his information exponentially more reliable than all the lies, errors, and misstatements Palin made in her campaign for the vice presidency.

Who is saying he apologized? I have not heard that. I have heard the nuts over at FREE REPUBLIC are DEMANDING he be fired, which is hilarious!
Sarah Palin is the most thin skinned sensitive politician ever!I can not imagine a politician who does not allow criticism or jokes to be made, especially when the daughter in question has appeared on People magazine and has become a spokeswoman for Abstinence, thanks to Mommy.
The crap about Dave directing this at the 14 year old is being laughed at,even by some moderate Republicans.
