I love how all of the right wingers are screaming "You can't make rape jokes about a child."

David NEVER used the word 'rape'.

None of them are complaining about any of the hundreds of other jokes made by other comedian.

Some say she is particularly attacking Dave because of the McCain fiasco (when he canceled at the last minute, lied, and then got caught w/Katie Couric). This is a way for Palin to get him back. Leno made a similar joke with her daughter and John Edwards but noone was up in arms. Plus- look at all the things Palin said about Obama that were not true. Now I see there is a rally planned at the Letterman Show. I wish I lived in New York so I could support Dave. Palin is again showing what an idiot she is! PAHLEEZE!

I still hope Dave starts telling JUST SARAH PALIN jokes EVERY night.I am disappointed he felt pressured to do this. Doesn't sound like Dave. Now, Sarah will have to make the rounds again going on all the morning shows and telling the world that she does not accept his apology and then make herself out to be the victim AGAIN.

She is attacking Dave BECAUSE it is getting her name into the news. When Leno made the self same joke, she was already on every newscast and didn't have to play the outrage card. The woman is an attention whore and will exploit her own underage children to get into the spot light.

I really don't think she gives a rat's ass about McCain. She knows he knows she cost him any hope he might have had of being elected and she's probably still steamed she didn't get to address the crowd before McCain's concession speech. Because he didn't need her low class ass dragging the thing back down to the gutter.

Agree Snafu! Her reasoning for all of this is just ridiculous. Whether you like what Dave said or not- we do have Free Speech in our nation! Personally- I think the way she has twisted this whole thing is far worse and has put her daughters in a worse light. She just can't take a hint from Hillary- she handled the press so well with Chelsea and didn't become so public about. The Clintons were so classy about it. They never accused the comedians of contributing to the lowered self-esteem of all teenage girls and that the jokes about Chelsea contribute to the violence of women. I bet Palin didn't even watch Dave the night he made the joke and that her handlers called an emergency meeting and planning session. The funny thing is- I haven't heard any of the advertisers of Dave's show threaten to pull out!

He wouldn't have touched it. He didn't care about any of that stuff and wouldn't have been invested at all. He was pretty much in favor of mankind destroying itself and seemed, in his last years, to take a strong liking to the idea and spent a lot of time saying he couldn't wait for it to happen.

Fact of the matter is that Sarah Palin is milking it.

If Sarah Accepts his apology and makes a public statement saying she does, the story then fades away and who here thinks Sarah will allow that to happen? I feel sorry for all the idiots who fell for Sarah's fake outrage. I doubt she will accept. Oh, and the rally to fire Dave is STILL PLANNED today outside the Ed Sullivan Theatre despite the fact that he has now apologized. Further proof that these people were never offended by the joke. They just want blood,nothing more.

When all the dust has settled, it's palin who has lost the most credibility here I believe.

She made all this commotion over a joke. One joke. Letterman's stock certainly isn't going to go down. Especially with no competition in late night anymore (sorry, Conan).
She's desperate to remain in the spotlight.

Just imagine all the soundbites that will come back to haunt her when she decides to attempt to run for office next time.

My 14 year old daughter and I have always been on Dave's side! Now, let's all put this to rest! I hope no one talks about Palin again. If she wants to complain so much about the main stream media then let the media just ignore her! There are so many more worthy Republican women who should be in the limelight- and for their intelligence and service!
