Now, to be clear this is NOT one of Dave's sponsors, but CBS's over Dave's joke.

How sad are these people? He apologizes, they pull their ads, and they STILL plan on boycotting today and DEMAND Dave be fired. These people are nuts. I sent an email to Embassy suites (who it turns out has filed bankruptcy)I find it odd that no advertiser has dropped their ads from Rush Limabugh,Sean Hanity,Bill O'Reilly, Laura Ingraham,or any Fox show or network but this company felt they had to drop CBS over this.

I'm still trying to picture the little Palin family meeting.
"Ok, Willow honey, Mom and Daddy have decided they're going to need to talk about you getting raped. Mama has a chance to get back on television, and you know how tough that's been lately."
"But Mama, Bristol's the one who does the sex thing. Not me."
"Oh, I know that, dear. But that's exactly why we need to make this about you. Just for a while."
"Um, ok, I guess . . ."

I loved Palin's invoking of the troops in her acceptance of Letterman's thank you.
She actually thanked the military for fighting for our freedom of speech over here and hoped that freedom of speech would be used to promote respect for women (will that start with her?).
I had NO idea that was what this war was about! Freedom of speech in America? Hmmm. Why did we have to go to Iraq to fight for that?

reading that acceptance was painful. she's really one of those people who like to appear more intelligent than they are and only manage to make themselves look more idiotic in the process.

Just an FYI, Embassy Suites has not filed for bankruptcy. It's part of Hilton.
You might be thinking of Extended Stay Hotels (which is abbreviated ESH, hence the confusion) which did file for bankruptcy yesterday. It has nothing to do with Embassy Suites, though.

Thanks, I think that's the one I was thinking of. I sent them an email. Here is what I wrote:
"I'm a regular traveler and have long used your establishments. It has come to my attention, however, that because of the Palin controversy you have withdrawn your support for the Letterman Show. Letterman has apologized. That you're siding with Palin indicates to me that you support people who exploit their own kids to further their political careers. Shame on you and Palin for exploiting young children in that way. Please be advised that I will no longer be staying at your hotels."
I got a response within 5 minutes. The person in charge is OUT OF OFFICE on vacation until June 23. Convenient?

I suggest EVERYONE copy and paste that letter and send it to Embassy Suites through their web site.
I just did.

On Facebook, there are 224 confirmed 'guests' to protest in front of the theatre.
90% of them don't post where they are from, and only a handful are from NY or anywhere NEAR NY.
If your city/state is listed below, I'm calling you out as a liar, unless you are flying all the way there:
Miami, FL
Albuquerque, NM
Salt Lake City, UT
Oklahoma City, OK
Corpus Christi, TX

Birmingham, AL

Posted: 6/16/09 at 3:32pmI am waiting to see the actual turn out. This is such a non event. I am sure there will be more gawkers then actual protesters! There was a huge turnout of supporters for Sarah Palin when she appeared on SNL. I believe the total reached 13, some with signs actually spelled correctly, standing in front of Christies.

The fact that this has inspired a protest just shows how desperate these people are for attention.
I truly believe that the vast majority of folks are thinking "seriously? all this for over a joke?"
