Not that I give two hoots about her, but let's hope she stays there and starts to figure out how to straighten her life out.
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - A judge sent Lindsay Lohan back to jail Friday after she failed a drug test, and the troubled starlet could stay there for nearly month.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox did not set bail and Lohan was taken into custody immediately after the hearing at the Beverly Hills courthouse.
Fox set Lohan's next court appearance for Oct. 22. It will be Lohan's third jail stint for a three-year-old drug and drunken driving case filed after a pair of high-profile arrests in 2007.
Her previous stays at a women's jail in a Los Angeles suburb lasted 84 minutes and 14 days.
Lohan acknowledged failing a court-ordered drug screening last week in a series of Twitter postings.
Lohan arrived at the Beverly Hills courthouse Friday about 10 minutes before the hearing was set to start, wearing sunglasses and accompanied by her mother, Dina. Her father, Michael Lohan, arrived earlier.
It was the "Mean Girls" star's first appearance before Fox, who had said at a previous hearing he would sentence her to a month in jail for each drug test she skipped or failed.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – Actress Lindsay Lohan returned to jail in handcuffs Friday after a judge refused to set bail and ordered her to remain in custody for failing a drug test until another hearing nearly a month away.
Bailiffs handcuffed Lohan immediately after the hearing that lasted less than 10 minutes at the Beverly Hills courthouse.
Lohan's father, Michael Lohan, said "Oh God" as his daughter rose, looked at her attorney and was handcuffed.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox would not listen to arguments for bail from Lohan's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley.
It will be Lohan's third jail stint for a three-year-old drug and drunken driving case filed after a pair of high-profile arrests in 2007.
Lohan has twice been released early because of overcrowding, with her longest jail stay a 14-day stint on a 90-day sentence earlier this summer.
But this time, the judge's order diminishes the likelihood that Lohan will be released before an Oct. 22 hearing, when her positive drug test will be discussed.
"When you put the judge in a tight spot, he has no alternative," said Barry Gerald Sands, a defense attorney who has represented celebrity clients in drug cases. "She will not get out now."

I agree, she needs to stay. I'm so sick of her getting out for these things, but there are people in jail and doing community service for lesser offenses.
Good. The bitch of entitlement should rot there for all I care.
Even more outrageous is the news that she actually got a settlement out of that lawsuit against etrade.
Relapse IS a part of recovery and I can only hope that she continues what she claims to have started with her drug addiction treatment and intense counseling. The fact that she immediately held herself accountable and didn't make excuses is SOME progress, no? While I'm very glad that the legal system isn't being soft on her this time, I recognize that she has a disease and wonder how much sitting behind bars is going to help in the long run. Just my opinion...
Everyone's bottom is different...but I have a couple of friends who credit prison as a final wake up call. Sometimes sitting behind bars is exactly what they need.
That's great that prison was able to be that bottom for your friends!
I am glad that she is being held accountable and that she is holding herself accountable. Hopefully something positive can come out of it for her as well.
Being in prison can turn a lot of men into bottoms.
Of all the hot messes, Lindsay is one of the messiest.
But she'll always be Firecrotch to me...

Death pool material. She won't be long for the Earth.
So now we get another month of Lindsay on the entertainment shows. Ugh.
...that's the truly unfortunate part.

... more like she's following Dana Plato's career guide.

I can't help but feel that Lindsay's star was shining much brighter before her descent than Dana Plato's was before hers. Dana was already pretty much a has-been by the time of her death, whereas Lindsay, and maybe it's only because of the way the media has changed in the past decade, is still very much a public figure and seems to be burning out in the midst of what could have been a strong career if it wasn't being overshadowed by her antics.
And ... she's out!
