This is just painful to watch! The guy playing Burton at least sounds a little like Burton and he has some dimension. I just can't get past the fact that Lindsay looks, acts, and sounds NOTHING like Elizabeth. It's so distracting! I even went to youtube and looked up Elizabeth as Cleopatra- NOTHING about Elizabeth and Lindsay is similar! It's a shame because I was kinda rootinfg for Lindsay to do well but she sounds and acts the same as she did in Mean Girls. Elizabeth deserved much better than this! Yeah- I'm still watching because I always have to watch the end of a movie no matter how bad. This is more than painful though!

I can't stop watching. As a fan of cinema, Taylor, Burton, and Hollywood history- this is like a write and "act" as you go production. But oddly compelling.
mom, there was a TV movie in the 90s with Sherilyn Fenn as Liz. Equal parts tasteful, tragic, and juicy.
Stanislavski is rolling in his grave with these references to method acting. I think I even caught a La Dolce Vita reference.

Yeah,I remember that movie too! I agree, I'm also watching for the same reasons as you! Hey and "Mr. Sheffield" is on it and so is Patricia Heaton's husband- who actually is British and Juilliard trained. All the work that has been done on Lindsay's face is also so distracting. I like Lindsay but clearly, she is not beautiful enough for this part!

David Hunt and the guy who played Mr. Sheffield were also on Mad Men episodes. I hope they went into this project figuring, hey, another period piece of a sophisticated era that was actually dirty. Otherwise, yikes.

the longer I watch this, the stupider it gets. Liz had a high pitched whiney voice, Lohan has a deep voice and even deeper because she has a cold and laryngitis, and I hear some bronchitis type coughing also. oy

Exactly Jane! Strummer- I like David Hunt and Charles Shaugnessy. They probably just saw this as a paycheck. With all the reality shows on tv, they're probably happy to have work. What did you think of the commercial for the new Dance Moms Season?

Once I heard the music and saw the tint for the commercials, I skidded off my couch because of how inappropriate it was.

Lohan is painful. Not a shred of Taylor in her performance. Did she not even bother to watch any of the Taylor's films? The voice, demeanor and recreation of her film roles are wrong, wrong, wrong. It's just Lohan reciting lines as herself. And that raspy voice!
