She makes it seem like men want demure, blonde, stick figures with pee brains.
I am not a blonde, demure stick figure and I am proud of it.
But the show offends me because it is telling the world if you are a rich man, you can buy a tall, blonde stick figure without a soul.
Not cool for women in my book.

Flitty,
We agree. I would never go on a show like this because it is offensive.
Original CoCo,
I support you 110% in resisting the urge to go on a show like this. I'm sure there's a better show for you out there and the best advice I can give you is to get out there and find it.

Believe it or not, though, this is not just a "reality dating show" but also a reality show following a legitimate business. I know several couples who have used similar services, paying thousands of dollars to a matchmaker, and are still happily married.
Does the concept of matchmaking seem a bit outdated and odd? Personally, yes, I find it does. But it does still exist and comes from a fairly old and established tradition.

I agree. Matchmaking is an artform and Patti believes that there is a match for every person, even if you are eccentric. I disagree with flit who says that the show's premise is being a millionaire means that you are a "good catch." If you have watched the show that is an absolutely false statement.
If anything Patti coaches many of the rude, obnoxious or self-involved to help them find love. Patti also terminates many millionaires who are not open-minded, communicative, or able to compromise, which she views as necessary for love.
I also disagree with Corine's statement "I find it very offensive that this women thinks it is ok to sell women as objects. The men on the show feel they can buy a model type." As previously stated no one is being bought or sold. Women AND MEN are screened to be introduced to a wealthy person looking for a relationship-A RELATIONSHIP. It is not prostitution or an escort agency, which is also why if you have sex you are BOOTED. You are totally missing the point based on your reactions to what the people on the show look like. You can't see past your own reactive feelings to appreciate the show.
For those of you who don't understand the concept of matchmaking or tough love STOP WATCHING THE SHOW! What Patti Stanger does is no different than what happens to the women on HOW DO I LOOK or WHAT NOT TO WEAR? Do you all hate that show to? Stacy london tells women all the time that they look beat and busted and will never find a mate.
The fact of the matter is that finding a mate is a proactive process-it doesn't just happen when you least expect it.

Well, since I clearly *don't* watch it, if I misjudged the contestants and the point of the show, I stand corrected.
Irrespective of the show, I *do* believe that money and/or an M.D. after the name improves the "catch" status of males. In general.

Her staff is hilarious. I actually like the guy that works for her. That girl that works for her is so weird looking - she has a chin like one of the Simpsons.

As for "sex toy dave" I LOVED how Patti set him up with an aggressively sexual woman and he completely backed down. That was AWESOME!
However my favorite this season was the 40something cougar who wanted an "Ashton Kutcher" and Patti set her up with that smoking hot 50 year old and she ran screaming from the limo (losing her Manolo in the process), " I CANT DO THIS!!! HES LIKE 100 YEARS OLD!!!!" She was NUTS and that dude was WHITE HOT!!!!
I believe Patti told the truth when she said, "You're going to die alone and dry." PRICELESS!!!!
