I have to say miss the performances that NSYNC and Britney SPears use to do! They at least were memorable then these performances this year!
I will always remember the Blink 182 performance - - with All the Small Things! That was a good performance.
I miss the Old MTV!

Posted: 9/1/06 at 11:07amI didn't watch it, but it made getting home after my show last night HELL. Between that insanity, and the bullsh*t mob outside the Ambassador to drool over Usher's short little ass, I had to practically bludgeon people with my saxophone case to get to the subway.

Christina was the best thing at the award show.
Her performance was simple, dramatic and captivating.
She recieved a roar of applause- lasting longer than anyone else had recieved.
I mean, she was walking off the platform - and people were still clapping- and not just a smatter of applause.
Very little was memorable. No one took risks.
'Change it up!' In past years artists have tried new things, new arrangemnets, unusual duets, theatrical performances etc...
Now its all hype and no content. The artist themselves dont seem to want to be there.

"Celebrating a birthday this week: Rene Descartes is 412! Do you know who he is? Then why are you watching this show? You could probably get into college and even get one of those job things. As for the rest of us; Amanda Bynes is 22! Yay!"

Jessica is a humanitarian? HOW?
Bono? Yes.
Angelina? Sure.
But Jessica "Dasiy Dukes" Simpson a humanitarian? I don't think so.

Muscle, I am 30.
And why would you call someone a loser for criticizing Jessica Simpson? It's a matter of taste. Personally, I think she has a lovely voice that she chooses to use in ways that are way beneath her talent and she plays up the stupid blonde routine to a ridiculous level. You stated that Shakira sang well live. I think that is a ludicrous statement, but you don't hear me calling you names. In my opinion, Shakira can shake her hips and dance, but she has no vocal talent whatsoever. I use VH1's Divas Las Vegas as all the evidence I need. She performed, "Always On My Mind" and it was a joke. She was so bad that her duet with Mary J. Blige had to be cut from the DVD. She sings everything up in her head and the sound gives me a headache. Again, it's all a matter of opinion. No need for name calling.

Posted: 9/1/06 at 2:53pmNah, I am not calling names, I am just sick of this talented girl being attacked constantly and people bullying her. I on the other hand love Shakira's "Always on my Mind" version, I thought she was one of the best among Cher during that Elvis medley. Anyways...I agree to disagree, Jessica Simpson was called humanitarian, since she works with many charities, and she devoted a lot of work on the Operation Smile foundation, for innocent kids who have deformed bodies, many of them, little kids that don't have a nose or an eye after the bombings in Iraq.

Posted: 9/1/06 at 4:02pmOh, I caught a re-run of the show, and Christina Aguilera said she wasn't sick before the show and she didn't sound sick at all. She sounded great, as she always does, and she sounded the same when I saw her concert in Fort Lauderdale, she didn't sound sick because she wasn't sick, no one could dance and sing like that if they are under the weather.

Posted: 9/1/06 at 4:50pmquit arguing with me about this. I saw her talk as well about not being sick anymore. I distinctly could hear that her voice was still getting over being sick. She still sounded great. I'm not dissing her. I adore her. I'm thrilled that's her next single. But listen to the song and listen to her performance and tell me she didn't sound sick vocally. Plus, she wasn't dancing. Enough.

Posted: 9/1/06 at 7:33pmI just wish they wouldn't have to throw in like 30 dancers for EVERY freakin' act. When the girls came out for Panic at the Disco! I had to turn the channel. That's just stupid. Not every act needs to have a bunch of random ppl shaking ****.

Posted: 9/1/06 at 8:19pmYou know, what I was watching was something else, it wasn't her VMA performance, but then I went to youtube and if she sang "Hurt" with a red dress, she didn't sound sick, but it was certainly not the performance I was talking about, so Im sorry for my mistake.

She was not at full voice when she sang "Hurt" in the red dress at the VMAs last night. Compare the recording with her performance. That's not saying she didn't still sound great.
You have made your point that you think she wasn't sounding less than full strength and I voiced my opinion that she was.
There's nowhere else to go with this. And scene.

New subject! (still VMA-related)
All I have to say about the VMAs is that The Killers were fantastic. They were the main reason I watched the show, and sitting through the rest of it was worth it just to see their performance. Sam's Town (their new album) is going to be amazing.

OMG I KNOW! I am so excited for the Killers new album.
I love, love them. And I am seeing them in October!
