Not sure many people use this board anymore? Anyone else just a bit thrilled that Madonna is touring again this year?
I got tickets for the opening night of the tour here in Vancouver.
I had been contemplating an October trip to Palm Springs & Las Vegas & actually had hotel reservations for the weekend she plays there, but then last week changed my reservations to November instead.
Prices are high. For Vancouver lower bowl tickets cost me $375 Canadian, about double the price of what Sam Smith tickets at the same arena a few weeks later are going for. Then I checked the prices in Las Vegas. Comparable seats are priced at $550US. Yikes!

What may very well be Madonna's last big tour, and a greatest Hits tour to boot???!!?
HELLS YES I AM THRILLED!!!!

The pre-sale was a bit crazy. Had seats and they would disappear almost instantly to another "fan". Did the general sale and more seats were available. I decided not to buy as they were a bit more expensive than I thought they would be. (I was looking at MSG). I got an e-mail saying more tickets are available and my look again. I got tickets for Janet Jackson and when I looked at the same seats for Madonna they were over a hundred dollars more. I just couldn't justify (my love, for Madonna. <<see what I did there?! lol) spending that right now especially since I just booked my vacation.

I wasn't going to buy, but the combo of MSG and the fact that there was a single on the lower level near the stage for 360.00 made me change my mind. MSG is an excellent place to see a show, she is playing her hits, and it could be the final tour. Without all those factors, I would not have gone. Also, for me, I am thrilled that she is not doing a stadium tour. That is the worst. You end up watching the screen instead of the performer. And the prices are still high! But I will say that, if the reviews are not great from the first few shows, I will take the ticket to the resale marketplace. I do have a feeling, though, that it will be amazing. If anyone can do it, it is Madonna.

What finally convinced her to do the greatest hits? Why would this be her last tour?

Some of the things you mentioned made me a bit sorry I didn't just bite the bullet and get tickets. I have never seen a concert at MSG. Janet Jackson will be my first and I am quite excited. I saw her Rhythm Nation tour. I have never seen Madonna live.

Madonna will be like Cher and Diana Ross. She will tour forever and ever.

Also like Springsteen, McCartney, the Rolling Stones, and all those other men who do it. She's 64, not 104.

The Madonna "visual autobiography" movie won't be happening, says Variety. Sad. Kinda explains why her focus is now on a tour.

I saw McCartney at Citifield in 2009 and he was awesome. He played almost 3-hour concert and his voice was still good. I think he was around 65 at the time.

I've seen every tour since Drowned World in 2001 (which seems like not very long ago but in fact was 21+ years ago) and I didn't hesitate to grab tickets for both MSG and Vegas.
My experience with the Taylor Swift pre-sale had me primed to deal with this one, which was, in comparison, a breeze. LOL

Drowned World in 2001 was really a great tour! Such nice memories
Madonna has been my favorite singer since I was a teenager. Her music has always had a special place in my heart, and I've been listening to her albums for years. What I find most inspiring about her is not just her incredible talent, but also her ability to constantly reinvent herself and stay relevant in the ever-changing music industry. In fact, my admiration for Madonna inspired me to write an essay about her when I was in university. I came across some great examples of my favorite singer essay on this website, and they really helped me structure my thoughts and ideas. I wrote about how Madonna's music has evolved over the years, and how her work has influenced pop culture and feminism. It was an enlightening experience, and I gained a new appreciation for the research and writing process. Overall, Madonna will always be my favorite singer, and I will continue to be inspired by her music and her fearless approach to life.

Tour on hold as Madonna was found unresponsive on Saturday and is recovering from a serious bacterial intection.
Scary. Hopefully she is better soon and able to get out on tour. Was really looking forward to seeing this in August.

The tour started last weekend. The whole thing can be seen up on YouTube. Great to see her back in good health.
Do we like what we see?

I wonder if the carbon footprint is as big as Beyonce's.

I was out to lunch on this one. I have never seen her live and was wondering if it would be worth it to see her now. Looked at some of the video taken in the past week or so and this show looks really good. I am leaning towards seeing her when she comes to town next year.
