Apparently Melissa Rivers will appear in the film Joy as her mother. Anyone else find this a bit creepy? I think it's time she moves on and starts to create her own path.

Honestly, the only thing I find this is inevitable. It's the culmination of the long projects that began when she changed her last name and started plastic surgery.
I have no doubt that we'll see her in a one-woman show "An Audience with Joan Rivers" that my fellow gays will urge us all to support after all Joan and Melissa have done for us.
I have no problem with this whatsoever. Who better to play Joan? Melissa looks just like her.

I don't have a problem with her playing her mom, the only thing is; can she act?
I imagine not much acting or fine acting is necessary to put over Joan's jokes. At least I hope not!
If she didn't do a good job, I'm sure David O. Russell put her in her place.

Can she act? Are you kidding me?
Anyone who saw her star turn in the 1994 TV movie, Tears and Laughter: The Joan and Melissa Rivers Story, already knows the answer to that question. Unbelievable.

Kind of late to try doing that for the first time now, no?

Aww, Missy had fun playing dress-up in mommy's clothes. I wonder what take that was- it seemed quite listless to me.

It's brave of her not to do the voice. Everybody on earth can do the voice.

I hope she brings her one woman show, "I Am My Own Mother," to The Copa in Palm Springs ASAP.
I look ahead, and forward, to "Melissa!", the inevitable Lifetime movie about her struggles to get out from under Joan's influence and shadow, in which she plays herself trying to play herself playing her mother.

I think it might be called, "Enter By Any Means Necessary".
I'm fine with it. I mean Melissa never has to work a day in her life and essentially is taking over he mother's business and charity affairs. I think its mean to act like she is a troll who has done nothing. She loved her mother deeply and worked closely with her throughout her life to continue her mother's legacy-and it's quite the legacy to preserve. She's a notorious hard worker, just like Joan and isn't leaching off her mother. Melissa knows that she doesn't have her mother's talent and is contributing in a way that is more appropriate and business-ended. If only Mamie Gummer would do the same.

"I think its mean..."
Oh, grow up! It's a JOKE! Everybody's too sensitive nowadays. When Melissa was born, the doctor took one look at her and slapped Joan's mother. It was JUST.
Ok, not mean just stupid! GROW UP!!! :)

Career Path! LOL! Her mother has, is, and will be her career path. Maybe nothing wrong with that. But it is what it is.
She ain't doing it for money. That's for damn sure.
