You should be asking yourself this every time you post, broadway guy.
Ummm, says the moron who made that thread about gays not being able to give blood. Idiot.
Okay I am steering this back on topic to add that I not only think it's a very brave casting choice and if it comes to fruition Streep will be more than up to the challenge...she has prove time and time again she can do just about anything.
Oh yeah, No doubt that Streep could do it, but does Susan Boyle's story really need to have a biopic? Anyway, I see Glen Close more than Streep.
You know who should REALLY play Boyle? LA LUPONE! I smell Oscar!!
LOL, I'd watch that biopic.
Oh, Meryl. Seriously . What's next? The Joyce Bulifant Story?
Exactly.
She can wear her Julia Child wig
Mind you, the source for this article is Susan Boyle herself, whom I wouldn't describe as the most reliable, sane presence in the media. I somehow don't see Streep involved in this at all, but stranger things have happened.
I would pay hard earned cash to see THE JOYCE BULIFANT STORY come to fruition. How has her life story been overlooked after all these years?
Meryl could act the sh*t out of Joyce.
I don't think I'd watch a biopic about Susan Boyle even if it were free, let alone pay to see one.
Truth to power: Meryl can act the sh*t out of the yellow pages. She's just THAT GOOD!

This!!!
I'd see it if they cast LA LUPONE in it.

Oh, please. She's in line to play any female role of a certain age anytime anywhere -- the Inevitable Meryl Streep.
I'm sure Phyllida Lloyd will direct, from script from that DOWNTON ABBEY guy, and they can cover Streep up with just enough makeup to make her look like Meryl Streep with a lot of makeup on.
Pass -- just pass. Everyone. Pass.

Meryl Streep as Susan Boyle in THE IRON DIVA. Directed by Phyllida Lloyd. Co-starring Colin Firth as Simon Cowell.
Isn't Meryl also playing the Lindbergh baby in that new movie? She's a busy gal!
Oh I would see it. I laughed out loud just reading the title of this thread. yay!
The best part is that BWW picked it up, with an exclamation point and everything on the headline. Always keeping it professional BWW.
I thought Streep was coming to Broadway in Violet.
