Miss Penny, I'm reading every word and cheering for you. You are, as you've already made me aware from our "conversations", a warm, loving, compassionate and generous person who brings grace to this board, as she does to everywhere she goes. I haven't heard a boring word yet!
May I say that your daughter is beautiful and that you are truly blessed? There are challenges to being a parent, friend, sibling or caregiver of a person with a disability, but there are deep rewards, too. Your heart is open enough to accept all of it.
Miss Pennywise, your daughter is beautiful and radiates joy, indeed.
Now, your star - if you look high up in the sky towards the south at about 9:00 on the night of your birthday, June 11, you will see a semi-circlet of stars called the Corona Borealis (Northern Crown) - Greeks called them the crown of Ariadne, the Shawnee called them dancing star maidens. (In the picture, it's on the left.) The brightest star in the center of that crown is Gemma, the Jewel. If you can't see the constellation at first, look for the bright yellow-orange star near it, Arcturus. Gemma is actually two stars, one blue and one yellow, that take turns slipping in front of each other, so that we see one bright star. I thought you might like that.
Miss Pennywise - Hope you have had a great day as MBcofD. Have loved reading all of your answers. By the way Urinetown is one of my all time favorite Broadway shows. Now for the question:
Having had my own handicapped child and having worked in Special Education for 17 years, what would you like the "normal population" to know about raising a child with special needs.
Moonie, I sat two tables away from him once at Tuscana West. Newt Gingrich is NOT someone you want to see when you're trying to eat, believe me.
wexy, so you and your sister are what my kids are going to grow up and be like, huh? I better find out more about the two of you so I will have a glimpse into the future.
Hello Miss Pennywise!!!
Your daughter does seem very precious, and she's very lucky to have a mother like you. You really are one of the kindest and sincerest people I've met.
And your answers are being read.

Where are the three most beautiful places on Earth you've seen so far?
Miss Pennywise, it was a pleasure meeting you this weekend! I hope you have a great night!
The Shameless Questions
1. If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?
Here is what my husband said when I asked him (I know this is cheating, but it's way easier than figuring it out myself.)--
vivacious
"youthfully mature"
energetic
life of the party
beautiful
witty
razor-keen intellect
He also says I have that "cool, clear eye of a seeker of wisdom and truth." (He loves Broadway, too.)
How accurate? Geez. I don't think I'm any of those things.
2. What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?
I have always wanted to fly. I don't mean in an airplane or helicopter or hot air balloon. I mean, I want to be suspended by cable and fly around like those acrobats in Cirque du Soleil or the monkeys in Wicked or the people in the Olympic Game opening or Mary Martin in Peter Pan! DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW I CAN GET TO DO THIS????
3. What’s the last "great" gift that you gave someone? That you were given?
I don't know if this was the "last" great gift because--not to brag--but I am known as a really good gift giver. I try to be creative and very focused on the person receiving the gift. But I know something someone really liked so much that he's constantly thanking me for it...even a year later.
I made a donation to FoodChange and "bought" my husband a part as an extra in the movie version of The Producers. The funny part is that in the final cut, he's seen way more often than poor Brad Oscar who got a measly little cameo that was hardly noticable. Anyway, my husband had such a great time doing it.
A gift I got? Well, for Christmas, my daughter gave me a necklace that says "Mom rocks." (I wore it to my friends' house for dinner and they thought it said, "Mom sucks." Ha!)
4. Tell us something that you think we’d be surprised to know about you?
I played an integral role in exposing and bringing down a corrupt state government administration.
5. What has given you the most pleasure in the last year?
My children, my husband, my sister and my friends. (They have also made me the most NUTS in the last year!)
6. If you could be anyone you wanted to be today, who would you be, and what would you do?
Why would anyone who is chosen BWW Message Board Celebrity of the Day want to be anyone else today?

BRAVA, BRAVA!!!
Wanna run for president? Please?
Justy, thanks so much for the star. I love it. Gemma is so perfect. I like how hse changes colors. My eyes do that.
I will never forget this and I'm going to print out the picture, too.
DG, thanks for the shout-out, but, seriously, I cannot fathom why ANYONE wants to actually BE in politics! YUK.
I don’t want to make the other Celebrities feel bad, but those are some of the best answers those questions have received.
Oh, and it’s not quite Cirque, but there are flying trapeze classes. I did a story about one in Boca a couple years ago.
Um, avoiding something, Miss P? (tapping my fingers on the desk)

Penny - I absolutely agree - and that's why I ran screaming from DC. I just couldn't take the atmosphere.
The ONLY one I've ever TOTALLY respected was Barbara Jordan - and she finally said the hell with it and went to academia!
I am actively working to see that Tom Perez gets elected Maryland attorney general. He is one of the only honest, sensitive and respectable politicians I know. But I do know a few others. A FEW. VERY FEW.

Penny, I feel reasonably lucky in that Obama, Durbin and Emmanuel are well respected representatives. The last candidate that I worked for was beat by Obama!
Alright, Miss P, I gotta go to bed. It's not you, it's me. I swear!
If I don't get some sleep I'll be useless tomorrow. I'll catch up with ya in the morning.
BSoBW3...I am so sorry I missed your question about who my favorite Miss Pennywise is. I have only seen 2 actresses play her, but I am a huge Nancy Opel fan, No one compares to her in that role. She was just over-the-top, you know?
I met her once and told her that I'd loved her since she was in Anything Goes and she said something about how I was too young to remember that. "Oh no I wasn't. I was actually married at the time but to a different husband than the one I have now." She said, "Yeah, me too!" She was a doll.
Good night, Shamey, and thanks for the kind words about my answers.
I'm nodding out too, Missy! I hope you enjoyed your day-I know that everyone who read the thread certainly did!
Based upon my ever-expanding waisteline - Can I now be Miss PoundFoolish?
brdlwyr, Obama is another voice that needs to be heard. I have so much respect for him. There ARE good politicians, I know. But why do we have to look so hard?????
did the Pennywise ever answer my question concerning "The Women?"
