Blue Moon - the one place in the whole of England I'd recommend for a holiday. I'd say my local area of the Peak District is stunning -

But my own personal favourite destination, and a little piece of heaven on earth is the Cotswolds...
Sorry, I couldn't find any pictures that didn't make either place look like a chocolate box.

Beautiful, patti. Stunning country.
And you'll have dinner with me, of course.....
The Cotswalds is perhaps one of the most beautiful and charming places on earth!

Bluemoon, the pleasure would be all mine. And I know the perfect place to dine - The Lygon Arms in Broadway. The Great Hall is the perfect place to eat. The food is wonderful and the most elegant setting. Glad you're a Cotswolds fan, too, Addy.
The Lygon Arms, patti?
Ohmigosh, it's one of my favorite hotels in the world! I've stayed there twice. Once we stayed in a room in the regular part of the hotel and once we stayed in one of the charming cottage rooms.
It's a dream.
(lucky moony! )
CONGRATULATIONS, PATTIFAN!!!!!
It took me a long time, but I REFUSED to buy the Sunset Boulevard CD with Glenn Close on it, and finally found the Patti version. Thank gawd.
Did you see Patti in Anything Goes? (I hope so. She was incredibly zany.) What did you think?
Did you like Patti in her non-musical role in State and Main? What did you think?
Hope you're having a lovely day.

I'm having a great day thanks, Miss Pennywise. Unfortunately I've only heard Patti's version of 'Anything Goes' and I really regret not seeing it. I was in NY at the time but had only the choice of one show and chose 'A Chorus Line'...still no regrets, though.
Addy, I'm so glad you know the Lygon Arms. It's a beautiful place. Did you have a four-poster? I know that Oliver Cromwell actually stayed there, too. Hehe, we're in good company.
Oh Patricia, I love getting to know you even more on this thread. You make my gloomy days sunny!
We sure did! It was charming and elegant and romantic and historic... I loved it. A picture perfect holiday!
congrats!

Oooh, Cookie, fave moment. '...the magic in the making..' Thanks so very much. And it certainly was magic in the making, Cookie, cuz with this post I believe my status changes to 'Legend'. I can think of no better Day or person to be replying to.
Patti as Reno Sweeney?
Patti, dear, you need one more. So shush up the PMs and post!
Methinks that's a double celebration then, pattifan!

Which is your favorite theatre in London and why?
Broadway Legend Joined: 7/12/04
Favourite theatre is Drury Lane. It's a beautiful auditorium and looks so elegant from the outside with its white pillars and soforth. I've seen some great shows there, too. I loved 'Pirates of Penzance' when they had the little string quartet playing on the foyer as you entered.
I think perhaps the most special one is the Palladium as it's the one I went to first. My Mum took me to see 'The King And I' there when I was but a lad. I was hooked from that moment on.
Who was in The King and I when you saw it first?
What are you top five theatre performances that you've enjoyed thus far, pattifan?
