Congrats bwaysinger!
Your pictures of Elphapug always put a smile on my face.
What was the last Broadway muscial you saw and what did you think of it?
Enjoy your day!
Damn it, my post is one of those freakish "in limbo" posts and you can't see it!
*pastes*
BWAY!!
I love you!
And we really need to hang out because I miss you and Elphapug!
Well, I guess I made up for it since this was a double post.
Luvtheemcee: We still have a date for Natural History, don’t we? I wonder if they’ll let us sing showtunes in there…
Katy, some answers:
What show, performer or song made you first want to be an actor?
My very first musical was in college. “Big River.” I was not a singer then. I was a band geek. We’re talking full-out geekdom: symphonic band, jazz band, orchestra, woodwind quintet AND marching band (Where I was the drum major for three years).
My roommate in college for most of my stint was a singer and band nerd (bless him). He had gotten in with the best of the voice teachers at our school and had been her lead in the recent opera. So, on a dare from him, I auditioned for the musical and got the role of the Young Fool, who has a really fun little ditty called “Arkansas.” Considering it made me an overnight sensation on campus (Down to people seeing me and bursting into the song), I think I could point to that. J
What cast recording do you think you have listened to the most?
Floyd Collins.
Of the roles you have played, which is your favorite?
It’s probably a tie between Jack in Into the Woods and Jamie in The Last 5 Years.
Although, I must say, now that I think of it, Jinx (Forever Plaid) is an absolute blast, as was Mary Sunshine in Chicago.
Who was the first BWWer you met in real life?
That would be Jrb_Actor one-on-one, followed by a whole slew of people at the get-together at Rose’s Turn a few days later.
Dg, your answers will be some time off. That’s a rough one.
Yeah, Bway!!
Here's to blue cheese and tatoos!!
Have a great day, Mr. Celebrity!
hehe. You can sing, I'll watch. You really don't want to hear me sing. Yes, but after I come back from Spring break (which is in just a few weeks, anyway) because I have enough work to make my eyes fall out until then!
From my first encounters with him on this board as the coffeeboy for the "Adults" to a friendship that I am delighted to have today, you're A-1 in my list, bway! You've a heart that won't quit, and a voice that soars above others. Congrats to you today and every day!
Even the song on the radio reminds me of you, bway: "Bad Girls" by Donna Summer. MWUAH!!!
Andy Hardy! WOH! Good to see you!
Emcee, no problem. We'll figure it out, hopefully when it's not completely frigid out there.
Thanks, Stagedoor!
"What was the last Broadway muscial you saw and what did you think of it?"
Sweeney Todd. Lerved it! I’m already a fan of Patti LuPone and (SmartPenguin will die) I know Lauren Molina (Johanna. And she’s FABULOUS!), so I knew I’d have to go. And I dreaded this “concept.” Generally, if you have to shoehorn a concept on top of a production, you’re asking for trouble. It took about 10 minutes for me to settle into it.
Your dream vacation, bway, would be?
Congrats, bwaysinger!!!
I best recall how your "review" of In My Life reflected my response to the show. My questions for you are these:
1. Other than In My Life, what are the most memorable, truly BAD Broadway (or Off-Broadway) productions you have seen? (You know, memorable for their badness.)
2. Briefly explain why, please.
3. If you were able to convince a secret backer to dump $8 million into a Broadway show you were writing, composing and directing, what would your production be about? Its title????
Have fun today!!!!
Thanks for considering my questions.

"Arkansas, Arkansas
I sure love old Arkansas.
Love my Ma, love my Pa,
But I sure love old Arkansas!"
Congrats, Singer! Have fun during your day.
Questions later.........
Bway,
if you could take your Yankee friends on a trip to your home state what would you want them to see, and what meals would be served?
Kissmycookie, I’ll keep my distance, but you know what I think of you, my friend. Today, that goes double!
Katy, I am so not a “bad girl.” Perhaps a slightly-mischievous co-ed?
Miss Pennywise, GREAT screenname, which I don’t think I’ve ever told you before.
1. Other than In My Life, what are the most memorable, truly BAD Broadway (or Off-Broadway) productions you have seen? (You know, memorable for their badness.)
Dracula. What else can be said? It was awful. I honestly think THE worst musical I ever saw, though, was at the Old Globe. A new musical called “Paramour” starring Len Cariou. Atrocious.
2. Briefly explain why, please.
Well, Dracula goes without saying, right? Besides the design, which would have made even Georgia O’Keefe cringe, the music was dull, you couldn’t have reverse engineered chemistry between the leads, and the script was about the quality I’d expect if I let the Elphapug run over my keyboard for an hour.
3. If you were able to convince a secret backer to dump $8 million into a Broadway show you were writing, composing and directing, what would your production be about? Its title????
Wow. This is a hard one. I have ABSOLUTELY no aspirations to writing, composing or directing a musical. Not one iota. So I wouldn’t even know where to begin on this one.
Perhaps I’d do Bwaysinger: the Roustabout’s life? A La Chita, I’d have a multicultural, multi-age, multi-sexed cast playing me throughout my life. I’d, of course, come out at various intervals and dance.
I imagine it’d close quickly at a heavy loss.
BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
it's exciting you FINALLY got this honor. you have been one of my best friends on this board. i can't thank you enough for my first week in the city this past summer... YOU ROCK! i still consider you my big bro (sorry... you and me just won't happen... i wish you would ACCEPT that by now). i don't have any questions for you, but i wanted to let you know i can't wait to see you and elphapug again... even if he's running all over me waking me up...
enjoy your day!
::bust a move::
"I have ABSOLUTELY no aspirations to writing, composing or directing a musical."
Thats soooo not true, I've heard your on the spot composing.
If Addy gets to sing to you then I want to sing to you too (because I'm such a follower *smiles*)
Ready?
Everybody loves the cookie boy, cookie boy, cookie boy
somethingsomething and his cute little gingerbread rear
woo!
PS: you know I love you when I check the boards on campus before class to see how its going
And what would you show a newbie to your adopted home of NYC for his/her very first time here?
Ah, BlueMoon! The memories!
Oh, Zeppy, dear, you know I'm over you. Please, I had all the opportunity I could have wanted when you were in my shower.
by the way, I've fetched a fortune selling those videos here on BWW.
Addy: “if you could take your Yankee friends on a trip to your home state what would you want them to see, and what meals would be served?”
Well, clearly, I’d want them to see New Orleans. Unfortunately, they’ll be seeing the vastly recreated New Orleans I hope results in a few years.
I’d love to have my mom cook a good ol’ meal from my childhood. It’d definitely be fried chicken, fried okra (let’s detect the trend here), cornbread, black eyed peas, mustard greens. Of course, I’m no fan of iced tea but that’s a requirement.
For dessert, my mom’s homemade chocolate cake with icing to die for.
In New Orleans, we’d have to go to K Paul (Paul Prudhomme’s restaurant) or the Palace Café.
Then we’d absolutely HAVE to go to Café DuMonde for café au lait and beignets. Then we’d go get hammered from a hurricane on Bourbon Street. J
Cookie, definitely Central Park. It's my favorite place in the city.

bway...what inspires you?
Sword, I just died a little. Seriously.
you know, at my next birthday party, you absolutely HAVE to sing that song for me, right? RIGHT?
Who knew a hooker could be a celebrity too! Congrats lover.
Bway, sign me up for that trip!
BobbyBubby, I'm totally getting paid for this, too. By the hour.
Boobs, what inspires me? More than anything, seeing my friends happy in their lives. That inspires me to fix the things in my own life that need fixing, to reach for those dreams I have, to let go of those things which I need to drop...and I have some amazing friends who, everyday, show me how I should be living.
