My two cents ... this is Craig's call and he's apparently not here today. There aren't guidelines to cover such situations and that's a matter for him to decide/correct/create. I suggest we continue to honor Elphaba and let Craig decide how to rectify the situation upon his return.

With the thought of maintaining the integrity of Craig's creation, SOMMS is probably right. And there's also Cookie's thought that all the good thoughts may be of comfort if he gets to check in at some point later.

In any event, Elphaba is a wonderful man, and it's obvious that many good thoughts and prayers are with him today and every day.

I'm clearing a special table for you in the ultimate library, Elph.

Elphaba, you are a wonderful man that is truly deserving of this honor. We've only chatted briefly, so I'm definitely looking forward to learning more about you once you feel up to it. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your partner.

Well, whatever is decided, I wanted to give my 2c hurrah for Elphaba! Well-travelled, well-spoken, never holds back his opinions on the BWW Idol contestants (at least not to me!) and has compassion for toads. What a guy!

I didn't mean to "take away" Elphaba's Day. That would be cruel. I just thought maybe TODAY and maybe THIS WEEKEND weren't good times...as we all agree. Sorry if I didn't communicate that clearly.

Sorry.. I have been on very tight deadlines all day today.

Here's what we're going to do. Elphaba has named the successor. I will post that persons name later tonight. I feel we should still honor Elphaba today as planned. Earlier than normal, the new MBCotD will be named and that person will reign for the weekend. Here's where it gets screwy.

Monday, there will be a new celeb chosen by the person who Elphaba named HOWEVER - that person will not begin their reign until Tuesday. Elphaba will be our celeb on Monday. Whoever Elphaba has chosen (only I know who) will not reveal their choice until Tuesday morning.

So.. in short

Friday though Monday Morning - Celeb (XX) is the person who I already have a name for given to me by Elphaba

Monday Morning - Tuesday Morning - Elphaba

Tuesday Morning - the person who XX has named (but will be a secret until they post on Tues Morning

I suppose I won't post any questions until Monday. No point to overwhelm the guy!

So instead I'll just say he's fab, he's funny, he's astute and he's always got an opinion (which I usually agree with).

Elphaba deserves an endless celebration.

He is not only one of the most intersting and intelligent people I have ever had the luck of getting to know, but one of the kindest and most thoughtful as well.

I hope these next days are filled with joyful memories for you and Steve.
