No thoughts on what you would share with a first time visitor?

Congrats Jane2!
Enjoy your day.
Addy, do you mean a visitor to this board?
I have come up with 10 questions. Here goes:
1. What are your 10 Favorite Movies of All Time?
2. What is the first book you read that made you openly weep?
3. If you were going to move to another country, which one would you choose…and why?
4. Who do you think are the 5 most physically stunning actresses of all time who are NO LONGER LIVING?
5. Who do you think are the 5 most physically stunning actors of all time who are NO LONGER LIVING?
6. What would be your “decorating” advice to someone setting up their first home (you know, like, after graduating from college...dorm rooms don't count)?
7. Since you like amusement parks, did you used to go to Palisades Amusement Park? (Or was that verboten because it was “the competition”?) What were your favorite amjusement park rides and games?
8. If you were a flower, which one would you be? Why?
9. If you were one of the Altar Boyz, which one would you be? Why?
10. What is your definition of an “ideal friend”?
If you were a tree, what tree would you be and why?
No - this was what I posted:
My question: If someone who had never been to New York were visiting you for a day, what would you share with them and why?
(I always love hearing what others would do to share NYC! )
Hm... don't know if this has been asked, but...
If you were to ask/take someone out on a romantic date, what would you do?
Miss P-what is this, the SATS? You're making me think hard! I kid-I'm loving it! Bring them on! Seriously, I may not be able to answer all yours but I'll try....
1. 10 favorite movies. Off the top of my head- and in no particular order:
1. Amadeus
2. Fellini's Roma
3. Fellini's Amarcord
4. Fassbinder's Berlin Alexanderplatz (all thirteen episodes)
5.The Godfathers I and II
6. Harold and Maude
7.The Rocky Horror Picture Show (for the impact it had on my life)
8.Angels in America ( HBO)
9. Eraserhead
10. Best In Show
there are many more films I love, these came to mind first.
2. First book that made me openly weep? I'm going to guess A Tale of Two Cities.
3. Move to another country? Hmmm, I don't travel, but I have been to London. I wouldn't want to move there. Most of my friends who have travelled say I would fit in very well in Paris, so I'll say France and the reason is because they said so.
4. Stunning actresses no longer living? Did Liz Taylor die yet? Oh, ok no. Let's see,
Marilyn Monroe, Greta Garbo,Vivienne Leigh, Liz Taylor.
5. Stunning dead actors-Steven Boyd, young Gary Cooper, James Dean, Lawrence Harvey, Bob Smith .
6.Decorating advice to someone setting up their first home? I'd advise them to call someone else.
7. Did I go to Palisades? you bet! My father had just bought me a Pontiac convertible-red. We all went to Palisades in it many times. I used to like the roller coasters in those days, and I just loved the pinball machines! p.s. I dream about that car almost all the time. In the dream, I can't stop the car without pressing o n the brakes with all my strength.
8. Which flower would I be? These days I'm liking the cyclamen look, I'll be one of those. Why? because they are intense in color, but no too ostentatious.
9. If I were one of the Altar Boyz, I'd probably be the Jewish one, Abe. He's not my favaorite one by a longshot, but I'm nothing like the other ones, except for Mark. I might even be more like a gay guy than a Jewish one, come to think of it. I'm changing my answer to Mark.
10. What is an ideal friend? that is one of the best questions I've ever heard. My answer-Let's keep in mind that no one person can be everything. My ideal friend would be someone who 1. supports me in what I do, want to do, even if they aren't interested in it. 2. Will tell me the truth when I ask for it. 3. Is there for me in bad times as well as good. 4. Doesn' t need to be asked for a favor. (like someone who will show up at the hospital without my asking them to come) 5. Doesn't stand on ceremony. 6. Is non judgmental. 7. will keep giving me a lot of money and candy.
Only kidding about number 7. partly.
Addy-I'm sorry- I wasn't thorough enough with my reading of the posts. You ask a good question- let's see. If my guest didn't have anything specific that they wanted to do, think I'd take them to things I'm most impressed with in NY. this would be in the summer or spring. Morning-Zip over to the Brooklyn Botannic Gardens to stroll around and then have coffee and cake at their outdoor snack terrace. Back into Manhattan to the new MOMÅ and have lunch at their fabulous restaurant, the Modern. Walk a little through Central Park on the way downtown. Find an outdoor cafe in the W. Village and have iced coffee while watching the locals walk by. Dinner at any one of my favorite restaurants, maybe Gotham. In the evening, I'd like to take them to my friend's rooftop garden of her house on Grove Street. We could sit around a fire and talk show biz stories!
DD- a tree, let's see. I don't know the names of too many trees, but there is one at the Brooklyn Botannic Garden and I'll describe it. the trunk consists of all those intertwining, bumpy branches. the outside looks sort of like a weeping willow. You can walk through the leaves and there's plenty of room under there to hang out around the trunk.
a romantic date? Well, if I'm in love with someone, it doesn't matter what we're doing because it's all romantic, but if we were to pick something special to do, I think an outdoor concert on a blanket is pretty romantic. also, being on the terrace of a penthouse apt. or restaurant, sipping champagne is very romantic.

Congrats on you day jane2.
Jane2 - great answers to great questions. Could I be your friend visiting NYC for the first time? That sounds like an awesome day. Of course, I have been in New York before but I've never had a friend that lived there to show me the city from that perspective. I'v always been a tourist but I'm an obsessed tourist.
thanks, wexy and addict!
Jane2, seeing as though you recently started posting after lurking for so long I think I'll ask a board related question: if you were a moderator of this board what would you change?
Mazel Tov, Jane2.
Hey, Bso, thanks hon!
Dottie-that's a hard one. I think the board is pretty well run, as this is not an easy job. you can NEVER please everyone, and I think most of the hundreds maybe thousands of members here, are generally pleased. There's another board we all know, which is heavily censored and I have plenty of problems with that one. But this board is a happy medium between that other theatre board and the Howard Stern board, which is the other end of the spectrum.
I'll be back later tonight-I'm off for two more shifts at work!
congrats!
Love the answer, Jane!
Thanks.
And, hope you've had a special day!
Oh, almost missed this today! Congrats, Jane! Hope you're having a wonderful time today!

Jane2! Congratulations! Again, I wind up getting on the board late in the day, but my congratulations are no less sincere! You deserve a very special celebratory day! Much love!
*hangs head low*
I'm so ashamed! First off all, thank you for the complement. I didn't think anyone read my long-winded posts to the bitter end. I put 'em up there, just the same... but I didn't know!
So, I'll start over now and play nice.
*deep breath*
First of all, congratulations on this being your day! I really like your posts as well. You've made me laugh out loud several times with your "honest" and sometimes "outrageous" humor. Keep it coming! I always check out what you have to say.
As far as a question: What drew you to the BWW boards in the beginning, and why do you come back and continue to post?
(NOTE: This is a genuine question, not a snide snarky comment. I'm still relatively new to the "message board" thing, this being my first and only one thus far. I already have a love-hate relationship with it. I'm amazed at how fast I got sucked into it, though, and how many hours can be whiled away surfing through it. I'm genuinely curious to know why you "came here" and what keeps you coming back for more?
