I was going to congratulate you but I misread the thread title and thought Jane1 was celebrity of the day. But I hate you Jane2.
Kidding. Many happy returns of the day.
I'm back for a few hours! I'm so excited about today being my day, I even told people at work!
Boobs-I thought about your question and this is the answer, only it will not be interesting to anyone here. I'd like to interview MB, a man to whom I was once engaged. When we broke up I moved to CA, to get away from i all. He kept trying to convince me to come back east because he still loved me. I didn't come right back, though. We had no mutual friends, so I never found out what happened to him, and I wonder to this day.
"What, in your opinion, has been the defining moment in human history, and why?"
What are you nuts, Elph? Asking me, an idiot that question? oy vey! Here's my answer-when the species homosapien first stood up and walked on two legs!
Next-who were my heros as a child? Well, I already mentioned one of them-Bela Lugosi. BTW-In case anyone thinks I'm not answering these questions truthfully- I am. I'm not able to lie. OK, another hero, as corny as this sounds is my father. In my eyes, he could do no wrong. He could do anything-he could fix anything that was broken, he could buy me anything I wanted, and most important-he was VERY smart. He knew everything! A few very short statements he made to me have had the biggest impact on my entire life and defined my entire life. He was amazing. Not according to my mother, though!
Another idol-here comes a weird one. Someone kept callng my house on aa prank phone call. I must have been around 12. He had the exact same voice as Frankie Lymon, the lead singer of the teenagers, whom I idolized. I immediately got a crush on this prank caller, and cherished all our calls. I was in love for the first time.
The olympics-(btw, great questions, Elph) This year for the first time, I started doubting the importance of the games. It was sad to see the low ratings they got on tv viewing. I don't know the numbers of the in person audiences though. Yes, I think they are important enough to continue spending money on them. Why? a few reasons-I see nothing wrong with encouraging physical fitness and prowess in the sports. Especially for this, the country of the fat fat fattees. Another reason is I see nothing wrong with having so many of the countries of the world come together and celebrate something-anything-without any attention to outside problems. The last reason is sentimentality- I hate to see long time traditions come to an end. That's because I'm old.
And finally, Elph-if mayo is around, and it's fresh, lol-I'll opt for that. But most of the time its ketchup, and I love that too. p.s. I also love fries plain, with salt.
bway addict-yes, I loved Nancy Drew also, but I couldn't think of her name this morning, thans for the reminder! Some of my favorite childhood memories-
I had mentioned my father had an amusement park with rides and an arcade. I loved going down there to play the games and win prizes. There was a diner-type restaurant right next to the arcade. My father was really busy at work, so he'd park me on one of the stools at the counter (I was about six), and I would be taken care of and fawned over by all the workers! I have to say I loved the attention. I looked a little like Shirley Temple then (YES I DID TIFF) and I keep thinking the whole thing was like one of her movies!
Hey Dottie-hmm what other career would I be in? Honestly (of course) none. I'm through with careers. I had so many of them, that I think I've done everything that interested me. Now I'm looking forward to slacking off work gradually.
Beacon-wow, I love these!
1. fav sandwich filling? something gooey like eggplant parm or meatball parm.
2. My epitaph would definitely say "Here lies a real doozie!"
3. fav name for a girl? It changes. These days, Hallie, Gillian, Jane. boy? John
4. What drew me to this board? Well, I was already on the old Bway.com board, which I simply had to leave for reasons I won't mention here! I followed the crowd over to this board, but didn't participate much because I was turned off by these boards. I would lurk and post occasionally. that's why many people here didn't know me until recently, when I became interested in posting again (had more time at home). Now I'm addicted!
5. Favorite makeout place in high school. -In our city park (I was brought up in Bayonne, NJ), there was an underpass, you know, the type where there's an echo. I used to meet some guy Eddie Finley there and just makeout and get felt up for hours. To the sound of doo-waps.
6. What series of books did I read besides the Bobbsey Twins? who knows, reading wasn't and isn't my forte, sorry to admit. I have adult ADD. I can't read anything.
7. FAv. Bela role-Dracula of course. When we saw that first close up of him in the castle, when he meets Harker for the first time, and he says "I am Dracuuulaaa" I used to get heart palpitations. I had a recurring dream that he and I would run off to Vladivostok Russia and get married.
8. Last theatrical performance I saw? Well, where I work, I can go in anytime and see the shows, but formerly, paying for a ticket- Jersey Boys!
9. Breakfast this am? My mug of coffee with some toast and temptee. Then as soon as I got to work, hungry already so I get another coffee from Starbucks and some cake.
10. Favorite singer to croon a tune. Oh my, let's see.Corny again, but these days no one sings better than Raul Esparza in my opinion. what song? PETRIFIED.
Peach- hi hon, I'm honored that you're breaking tradition and asking me a question. and it's an easy one too. First of all- I NEVER care about calories and I eat comfort food whenever I want to. I guess the good old standby mac and cheese is my favorite, but I also like stew over noodles!

Jane, what is your favorite baseball team?
YWIW-hi there! although we're not supposed to regret anything, your question is an easy one for me to answer-If I could change anything from my past, it would be to seek out wise people in my life to help me make important decisions. My parents were not strict with me whatsoever. In some ways, this is good, but for me not so good in that I decided everything. I was too young to make certain decisions, and I have a habit of being impulsive. I mean so impulsive that one day I decided to move to LA because I had fun there on a weekend. So I moved there. It was a disaster. I picked my own college to go to without any help. It turned out to be a disaster. Likewise, I made all my decisions that way. Of course I had an interesting life, but It's kind of crazy. to this day, I think I need help making decisions from people with much more level heads than mine.
papa-very interesting question. There are lot of things about the human body that I find gross. So, notwithstanding the fact that there are certain parts that we actually NEED, I'll say right off the top of my head - FEET. No one has nice feet because they're ugly. My sister used to put her bare feet on my bare back and I'd scream and start crying. This was just last week, by the way.
kidding about last week.
Dame-mid morning snack? there is no midmorning for me, as I eat all day long. but, I can determine what I'm eating about the time you'd consider mid-morning. Cookies of course, or cake if I have any around.
Best 12-shame on you! I follow your posts and they're always great. I read every word of them, even when they're long. You're an interesting person-now go back to the drawing board please!
Thanks Namo, and I'm sure you know that I hate you too~
xoxoxox
Mamie-what a sweet picture-thank you so much! and you have great questions-As a little girl pre-school, what did I want to be? To tell you the truth I can't remember thinking about that at that point, but as soon as I did start school I was positive that I wanted to be a teacher, and that indeed was my first profession (art teacher). My parents didn't discourage me, actually that's probably a profession lots of parents would approve of. I wish they had discouraged me now that I think of it.
The long summer vacations- i was sent to sleepaway camp every year. Even until I was old enough to be a counselor. I guess I liked some things about it,, but not the activities. A fat fat fatty like me didn't like to run around and play sports. I would hide in the bathroom when they called swim, or I would go to the infirmary. I DID like arts & crafts of course. And rest hour! that was my favorite. You get to lie on your bed after lunch and read mail while you eat candy and stuff. I used to get on the line for malteds with the skinny kids. I was the only one who gained weight each summer instead of losing. camp was also good for the social life! I'd have several boyfriends at one time!
Hide and seek-LOVED IT! I lived in a big house with a huge yard and basement. All the kids would come to my house to play every day and night. I'd rather seek then hide because when you were hiding, and suddenly someone found you, it would be real scary and I'd scream.
What old TV shows? Well, I'm not naming the first one, because that would age me far too much. Let's just say the old sitcoms like Lucy, the Honeymooners and all those.
Warmest most secure memory? it's going to have to be running to my father if someone hurt my feelings.
Jane you anything but definately NOT stupid..........
brdlwyr-although I hardly pay attention to baseball anymore, I'm an old diehard Mets fan. I know they're pathetic losers, but I like routing for the underdog.
Woohoo! Congratulations to the fatty!
XOXO!
