Congrats Yessica! I miss your avatar where you had really curly hair and were at a cafe. Not that I stalk you, or anything.

Enjoy your day. :)

Congrats YessicaB!

If you were recuperating in a hospital, who would you want in the bed next to you, excluding relatives?

What has given you the most pleasure in the last year?

What's something that we would be surprised to learn about you?

If your house were on fire, what would you grab on the way out?

If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?

What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?

What’s the last great gift that you gave someone? And, that you were given?

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

Musicalnerd, I'll make sure to use that one again once I have Internet access on my laptop. For now I'm using Internet Cafes so I can't change my avatar... *feels very flattered that avatar left such an impression* re: Message Board Celebrity Of The Day (Part IV) - Is it you?

If you were recuperating in a hospital, who would you want in the bed next to you, excluding relatives?
Mmmh, meaning they'd be hurt or sick too? I'll take it to mean visiting and staying with me... so probably my best friend Marni.

What has given you the most pleasure in the last year?
Travelling so much. Apart from all the complaining I did, living in the States those 2 years really was a cool experience.

What's something that we would be surprised to learn about you?
A bit ago I would have said that I'm German, but I'm guessing you've all figured that out by now...lol. So, probably that I didn't get to see my first show till I was 19! Used to want to study Communications to work as a radio broadcaster.

If your house were on fire, what would you grab on the way out?
God, that happened to two collegues at work today! Their landlord called and left a voicemail (!!!!) saying that their flat is on fire and if they want to come and meet him there!
Just awful.
As I am currently sharing a room with 3 people, I'd make sure they are getting out and if they are okay I'd grap my passport, wallet, cellphone,.... so basically my purse.

If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?
My friend would say (just asked her...lol): She talks non-stop (pretty true), is pretty, funny, smart (all depend on the eye of the beholder), would do anything for her friends (true) and is a complete attention whore (soooo true).

What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?
I've always wanted to try para-gliding. I think that would be so great. (I have tried para-sailing...I think that's what it's called, the one with the parachute behind the boat? And I have gone cliff-diving and snorkeling in the Mediteranian, so I allready got to cross those of my list)

What’s the last great gift that you gave someone? And, that you were given?
Well, I'm planning to buy tickets for my sister to come visit me in London for her birthday in September. She's never flown so that'll be a great one.
The last amazing one I got was from 4 of my girlfriends in the States who gave me a trip to Savannah as a Good-Bye gift, we drove there together and spend the weekend at the beach and in town. We had such a great time!

And the next Message Board Celebrity of the day is: StageManager2, because he made it a point to "subtly" remind me in 4 different threads of how much he'd like to be picked. re: Message Board Celebrity Of The Day (Part IV) - StageManager2
Enjoy your reign and have a fantastic day!

And my question to you is:
If you had a super power what would it be?

Hi, gang! Sorry I'm late! I had to run some errands. I wasn't even planning on being on today because I was going to work on something else, but I'm glad I checked. Thanks to all the little people who made this possible... well, namely YessicaB. It's an honor, really! I didn't think it would happen this fast... especially considering that I kinda sorta maybe was involved in the deletion of two threads...yesterday? But let's not dwell on that...

ANYWAY, I'll get right on to the questions.

IF YOU HAD A SUPER POWER WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Well, I've always wanted to fly. (I don't know if that counts as a SUPER power or not). When I was a kid I used to jump off my roof and onto the snow (repeatedly) in an attempt fly... to no avail. re: Message Board Celebrity Of The Day (Part IV) - StageManager2

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST BROADWAY SHOW?
My first (and so far only) Broadway show was BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.

WHAT WAS THAT EXPERIENCE LIKE?
It was a bit disappointing...initially. Not the show, though. The show was fine. It's just that the theater was smaller than I'd expected. I was expecting the stage to be the size of a football field! Then again, I've always had BIG expectations about everything... Well, NOT everything... :)

WHAT SHOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE SEEN, BUT DIDN'T BECAUSE YOU WEREN'T BORN?
I've often wished that I could have seen Julie Andrews, Rex Harrison, and Stanley Holloway in the original production of MY FAIR LADY.

MCDONALD'S OR BURGER KING? (Neither is not an option)
You're going to make me pick something? Well, I'm a vegetarian so I don't go to these places. But since you're practically forcing me to choose (sans the pistol to my head), I'm going to say McDonald's. But only for the nostalgia. It was a place I loved as a kid.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE PERFORMER AND WHY?
I'm guessing you mean Broadway performer. I don't really have a fovorite, but I was just listening to her so I'll say Ruthie Henshall. What? She performed on Broadway...once. Ruthie's rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" never fails to send shivers up my spine.

WHAT SHOW WOULD YOU MOST WANT TO BE IN AND WHO DO YOU WANT TO PLAY?
Well, my favorite show is EVITA so I'd definitely like to be in that, and Che is the male lead so I'd probaby have to be him. But if there is ANY way that I can be Eva... :)

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ROLE YOU'D ONE DAY LIKE TO PLAY (SOON AS YOU GET CASTED ON BROADWAY?
Well, considering that I can't sing for...uh, beans... I'm going to safely say that I'll NEVER appear on Broadway. However, since that is totally a hypothetical question (I believe) I'm going to say...*thinks for a moment*...Does this have to be a singing role because I can only think of Stanley Kawolski in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE. I used to idolize Marlon Brando and I've always wanted to play that part. I think I've got the sex appeal down pat. Right? Right? (Why don't I hear an echo?)

WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE BROADWAY SONGWRITER/SONGWRITING TEAM?
This is like asking me to choose my favorite child, which I don't actually have but it felt like a good analogy. Let me put it this way. The shows I most listen to are written by Stephen Sondheim and Tim Rice/Andrew Lloyd Webber. (Yes, it is possible to like both!)

WHAT DO YOU DO FIRST WHEN YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING?
Well, in the times when I actually get some sleep, I'll say I shower and brush my teeth. I know that's two things, but it really is a regimen. I'm a stickler for hygiene so that's the first thing I do.

WHAT'S YOUR STARBUCKS ORDER? iF NOT STARBUCKS, WHAT'S YOUR COFFEE SHOP ORDER?
Believe it or not, I don't drink coffee... at all. (It stains your teeth). But on a REALLY hot day, I am known to enjoy a Coffee Coolatta (through a straw) from Dunkin Donuts.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM?
My favorite flavor of ice cream is... bubble gum! It has been ever since I was a child and I don't eat anything else but. Of course, I don't have it all the time, but on the rare occasions when I do get a craving that's my choice.

I see there are more questions. I'll do my best to answer them all. (I really should get a fan club president.)

WHAT PART OF MASSACHUSETTS IS YOUR FAVORITE?
I would say anywhere by the ocean. When I was younger, my family used to vacation on Martha's Vineyard and Cape Cod. I love the seashore! My apartment has a lighthouse/ships/underwater motif (living room/kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom). I even read somewhere that my name actually means "friend of the sea." Coincidence...?

IF YOU HAD TO BE ONE KIND OF DO, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I'm assuming you mean a "hairdo." That's an odd question. However, I shall not repudiate a fan let-... I mean, enquiry. (I feel it's my duty to the adoring public.) So to answer your question, I would say...*thinks REALLY hard about it*... a beehive? (I really have no reason; it's the first thing that popped into my head.)

IF YOU HAD TO HAVE SEX WITH ONE CELEBRITY, WHO WOULD IT BE?
You say "had to" as if I would ever turn down such an offer. :) I'm not really star-struck, but I would say Prince William seems like he would be a good sport. Even though he is losing his hair at a rapid rate, I still think he's doable. Plus, all those riches and prestige doesn't hurt either. Yes, power and money are aphrodisiacs to me.

*hopes last response won't get his thread deleted*

Congrats SM! Here's one:

What's the most annoying thing about me?

What do you think other people think is the most annoying thing about you?

Would you rather have your right arm chewed off by a bear or have your eyes torn out, but without any pain (anaesthetic)?

Thanks a lot, Geek! What I meant is that he seems like he'd be willing to "fool around" if he is not already gay -- and by THAT I mean if he isn't just pretending to be straight and is really hiding in the closet. (Why do I feel like I have to explain myself a lot?)

linnie, what history is that? *mutters* I told you it's a clandestine affair!

WHAT'S THE MOST ANNOYING THING ABOUT ME?
I like how you wrote "the most annoying." I guess you realize how insufferable you are to me, what a thorn on my side you are, what a pain in the... I could go on and on. But to answer your question truthfully, I would advise you to get rid of that hideous monstrosity that is your avatar and replace it with a better-looking animal or person... or even yourself! I hate it!!! You're probably going to keep it just to annoy me, but I'll get you back...

(BTW: Moderators, that was said in jest...)

WHAT DO YOU THINK OTHER PEOPLE THINK IS THE MOST ANNOYING THING ABOUT YOU?
NOW you're assuming I'M annoying?!? Well, to be honest, people hate it when I sing -- and not just because I have a screeching voice that could make your ears bleed. But because everyone in my life hates show tunes. I don't think they'd mind if I sang "regular" songs, which is why I probably don't. That's why I'm so grateful for this site.

*looks at Rob and Craig and smiles sheepishly*

WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE YOUR RIGHT ARM CHEWED OFF BY A BEAR OR HAVE YOUR EYES TORN OUT, BUT WITHOUT ANY PAIN (ANAESTHETIC))?
What the hell kind of questions are these? *channeling Faye Dunaway* Nothing about my great roles?!? Not even that fantastic film I did with Johnny Depp, in which I was wonderful?!? Perfection, even!!! *end* But to answer you, I would say the former because, linnie buddy, I consider you my RIGHT-HAND man and I KNOW you'd take the fall for me, even it meant being eaten by a bear. So there it is.

And goodbye for now!

BTW: Elphaba, I was going to say that, too!

FAVORITE BROADWAY SONG?
Again, it's like trying to choose between the two children I don't have. I've mentioned that EVITA is my favorite show, so it's only obvious that "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" would be my favorite song. It's even my ringtone. (Yeah, I'm pathetic.)

FAVORITE TOP 40 SONG?
Believe it or not, I don't listen to much music. Well, except for show tunes. I couldn't even tell you what's in the Top 40.

FAVORITE SONG TO SING?
I can't say EVITA because those songs are really hard on my throat. But one I enjoy singing is "Skimbleshanks: The Railway Cat" (CATS). It's just a fun, not-so-hard-to-sing ditty. I usually sing this (and other CATS songs) to my little niece and her friends. Everyone else thinks I'm strange when I stoop to their level and make an ass out of myself, but they love it!
