Congrats Jungle! Sorry, I'm late, but here's my usual list. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
If you were recuperating in a hospital, who would you want in the bed next to you, excluding relatives?
What has given you the most pleasure in the last year?
What's something that we would be surprised to learn about you?
If your house were on fire, what would you grab on the way out?
If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?
What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?
What’s the last great gift that you gave someone? And, that you were given?
Hi Folks! I am back from the movie and dinner and in for the evening. I highly recommend "Little Miss Sunshine". It's a dark comedy - and oh, so poignant and funny.
Okay, Girly asks:
If you won a few million in the lottery, what would be the first few things you'd do?
I would probably be in shock for a little while and then talk things over with those that are close with me. I would consult with my Financial Advisor and probably invest the majority of the funds. I would pay off any debts that need tending to and probably share some with family / close friends. I would give some funds to charities that are important to me, my college Alma Mater, and Arts Organizations that I support. I would also take a nice vacation and ponder things and probably buy a couple of trinkets or two. I'd make sure that my business was financially solvent for many years to come. -And I'd come see lots of shows in NYC and see all of my BWW friends!
Which do you prefer, Sunrise or Sunset and why?
I like both, but I'll give the nod to a beautiful sunset. I saw the most gorgeous one of my life in Maui a few years back. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful day.
What was your favorite t.v. show when you were growing up? Now?
Hmmm...I loved The Brady Bunch when I was very young - along with reruns of Bewitched. I also loved all the game shows in the 70s! The Mary Tyler Moore Show, All in The Family, and the Carol Burnett Show were big favorites. I also liked The Jeffersons....Sherman Hemsley was brilliant. Later on, I liked the early seasons of the Cosby Show, along with The Golden Girls and Designing Women. The 90s were all about Seinfeld - probably my favorite sitcom ever. Melrose Place was a guilty pleasure. I thought that "Sex in The City" was very clever and of course, I watched "Friends" for many years. I don't watch as many shows regularly now. I tend to watch the News, Sporting Events and shows like PrimeTime with the occasional trash Reality show thrown in. I do look forward to Desperate Housewives on Sunday evenings....shhh - don't tell.
What was your favorite song in grade school? High school?
Tough question. I like all kinds of music. I'll give you a laundry list of some of my favorites from my early days through high school.
"Love Train" by the O'Jays was the first 45 that I ever bought with my own money - 79 cents!I loved "Brandy" (You're a Fine Girl) by Looking Glass and I had a whole bunch of Carpenters 45s. "Old Days" and " If You Leave Me now" were favorite songs by Chicago. I loved "Listen to What the Man Said", "Band on the Run" and "Silly Love Songs" by Paul McCartney and Wings. I loved "Dance with Me" and "Love Takes Time" by Orleans and anything by James Taylor. I enjoyed early Jimmy Buffett, and the soft rock sounds of Jim Croce, Hall and Oates, Seals and Croft, Bread, Barry Manilow, Carole King and America. John Denver and Olivia Newton-John were favorites. I loved "Rock the Boat" by the Hues Corporation and "Love Will Keep Us Together" by the Captain and Tenille. I loved everything by the Electric Light Orchestra, especially "Evil Woman". I loved the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever and everything by Donna Summer and KC and the Sunshine Band. I also loved rockier stuff like Boston's entire first album, Toys in The Attic by Aerosmith ("Dream On"...), "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin, "Miss You" by the Rolling Stones, "Anyway You Want it" by Journey, "Year of the Cat" by Al Stewart, "Lorelei" and "Renegade" by Styx and "You're My Best Friend" by Queen. The album "Aja" by Steely Dan is one of my all time favorites.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
I loved a big stuffed Snoopy that I slept with when I was little. I enjoyed playing Board games like "Clue' and "The Amazing Race". I spent a lot of time playing with a Mattel electronic football game I received as a gift when I was a little older. I also really enjoyed playing with my baseball cards!
Your favorite holiday?
Very easy - Christmas! I love the Holiday season very much.

DayDreamer asks:
SO... I've never been to Atlanta.
Let's say I am visiting Atlanta... I have 24 hours. You're my host... what do we do? Where do we go?
Atlanta is a very good place to LIVE (in my opinion), but it is not a tourist destination city in the sense of notables like San Francisco, New Orleans, Washington DC, Chicago, Los Angeles or New York. DD, I would try to customize a visit to Atlanta around your interests, so I'd try to find out your particular likes / dislikes before planning things. If I didn't know your interests, the day might go something like this:
Ideally, I'd suggest early April for a visit as Atlanta will be in bloom with azaleas and dogwoods everywhere you look. I'd suggest a quick breakfast and then a visit to our new, amazing Georgia Aquarium and our Centennial Olympic park downtown. I'd show you CNN Center (we can tour the studios if you'd like), Philips Arena where we feature major artist concerts and professional hockey and basketball games, and The Georgia Dome -home of our football team - Atlanta Falcons. I'd drive you past our State Capitol downtown and also show you Turner Field where our Atlanta Braves baseball team plays. Close by, in Grant Park is Zoo Atlanta. we can pop in for a hour if you'd like to say hello to the Pandas - who the keepers are desperately hoping will breed soon. (Zoo Atlanta is only 1 of 3 zoos in the US that has Pandas onsite). Next, we will drive over to the intown suburb of Decatur to have a delicious Southern lunch at Watershed (discussed earlier in this thread). After lunch, I'll drive you through several of Atlanta's neighborhoods so you can get a sense of place. We will first visit the beautiful homes of Inman Park - Atlanta's first suburb, see Sweet Auburn and the MLKing Center - epicenter of Atlanta Black History, drive through "Miss Daisy's Druid Hills / Emory University area and then visit the bungalows of Virginia Highland. We will stop to shop here and maybe grab a gelato at Paolo's (yum!). Next, we will see the skyscrapers of Midtown, drive past Margaret Mitchell's home on Peachtree St. and drive to Piedmont Park - an amazing oasis in the city. We can walk around if you'd like...or perhaps visit The Atlanta Botanical Garden at the park. We will then continue up Peachtree Street (our main street) to Buckhead - a key financial and retail district - also known for its manicured lawns and sumptuous mansions. We will drive down West Paces Ferry Rd. and see the Governor's Mansion and if you like history, visit the Atlanta History Center Museum. We will drive past Lenox Square - the Southeast's premiere shopping mall and then check our watch. If there is time before dinner, we could drive east of Atlanta to Stone Mountain Park to marvel at the granite wonder and perhaps catch a cable car / sky bucket to the top. We will be able to look back to the West to see the skyscrapers of the city. Now, it is time for a fabulous meal at one of Atlanta's fine dining establishments. Baccanalia on the Westside is a favorite destination restaurant, Rathbun's intown is delicious, One Midtown Kitchen and Two Urban Licks are fabulous 'scenes', "South City Kitchen" is great upscale Southern in Midtown and any of the Buckhead Life restaurants in Buckhead are solid. After dinner, we will take in a cultural event - perhaps a touring Broadway show at Atlanta's 1929 Moorish classic Fox Theatre, the symphony or a show at the Woodruff Arts Center, a concert at one of our many music venues, or maybe a performance of "Peachtree Battle" - a long running play - that is "very Atlanta" -complete with hometown jokes that poke fun at ourselves. If we are in the mood, perhaps we will have a nightcap at Shout in Midtown or some other place that sounds interesting or maybe dessert at Cafe Intermezzo before calling it a perfect Atlanta day.
Hi Shamey! I hope that you are having a great weekend!
Shameless asks:
If you were recuperating in a hospital, who would you want in the bed next to you, excluding relatives?
My best friend. My dogs would probably try to crawl into bed, too!
What has given you the most pleasure in the last year?
Having my cocker spaniel, who had major surgery this year, pull through just fine - and be back in top form.
What's something that we would be surprised to learn about you?
I played the trombone from grade school through college marching band.
If your house were on fire, what would you grab on the way out?
My dogs, my photo albums, my laptop, my i-pod, my wallet, keys.
If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?
Hopefully, that person would say that I was kind, valued life's 'experiences' very highly and tried to make the world around me a better place. I hope it's true!
What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?
Be a disc jockey. I don't think I'd like to stick to a set format, so I think I'd have to own the radio station, too! Ha!
What’s the last great gift that you gave someone? And, that you were given?
Last great gift I gave someone - A trip to Maui.
Last great gift I was given - my i-pod - I love it!

Hi Girly, Addict and All!
I just got back from the visiting the Georgia Aquarium and had a totally amazing experience. I took a 'Behind the Scenes" tour that just blew me away. I was just a few few away from 4 whale sharks - the world's largest fish. This is a definite "must do" to be on the llst when you come to visit Atlanta.
Okay, Bdwaygirl asks:
What brought you to BWW?
I am a huge admirer of the arts and live music and theatre in particular - and one day I googled Broadway theatre or something and I ended up on this site. I poked around a bit and discovered the message boards. Of course, I lurked for awhile - some of the posters seemed to know each other fairly well - and having never been on a message board or in a chat room before, it seemed a little bit intimidating. However, I was in the midst of planning a trip to New York that would include theatre and decided to summon up the courage to ask a question about seating for the show "Wonderful Town" back in April of 2004. Several posters were kind enough to welcome me and give me good advice. I remember JRB-Actor was one of them - so many thanks to you, JRB if you read this. After that, I kind of jumped right in to the main board and migrated mainly over to the Off-Topic board. As you might know, I was one of the posters on Page One of the original "Adults" thread - as it started as a thread reminiscing about memories of some of our "Adult" members. I started having fun with Boobs, Addy, DG, Cookie, you and the rest of the gang and the thread became sort of my "online home" - a respite from the reality of the workday. I also like the Adult thread as I believe it has always been welcoming to new folks who want to join in the fun. We try to keep things positive - there is enough negativism around anyway.
Hi Addict! Thanks again for choosing me as the successor to your throne. I hope that I have done a worthy job.

Jungle - I'll be gone til tomorrow evening, so I just wanted to tell you how wonderful it was to read your answers. And it became even clearer why we connect so well
*books flight for Atlanta in April*
Awww, DG, your kind words mean a lot. By the way, the penguins at the Georgia Aquarium were very playful today! I thought about you when I visited them!
***Rolls out the welcome mat for DD!***
Just wanted to tell my friend that he did us all proud this entire weekend keeping up with all the questions thrown his way. You know that I feel you are one of the gems around here. Never change. Last question from me......what is your favorite board game?
Boobs is right, as usual!
Jungle and Addict, it was a real joy to read all of your answers. We run in to each other all the time on the Smokers thread, but this was a great opportunity to learn more about you. I think you're both fantastic, by the way.
Boobs and Shamey - Thanks for your kind words!
I'll go with the classic "Clue" as my favorite Board Game! :)
Good morning, everyone! Once again, thaks to bwayaddict for nominating me as the CotD for Friday (and the weekend). Thanks to all who stopped by to say "hello". It really is a pleasure to hang out here at BWW with you guys.
Okay...it's time to announce the new CotD. The recipient of the crown for today has been a member of BWW for quite some time - but has been living and working abroad from his home in the US for quite some time. He keeps up with the BWW shenanigans regularly...and now it is time for this poster to take his rightful place on the throne for a day!
Today's new Celebrity of the Day is....
BONGO BOY!!!!
Have a great day Bongo!

1) What inspires you.
2)If you could spend the day with 1 person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would you talk about?
