First of all, let me thank Beacon again for choosing me and Craig for creating this fun thread. And I would like to honor the 19 CotDs who preceded me before naming the 21st.
When Beacon chose me, I’m sure she understood that for every poster who enjoys my postings, there are people on this board who dislike me, who resent my politics or find the manner in which I express my views to be strident and even inappropriate to a theater bulletin board.
Several of the other CotDs were similarly known for strong opinions that sometimes rankle those who do not share them. That’s part of the fun of making these "bad-boy posters" Celebrity of the Day: we get to learn a little more about what’s behind the spiky online persona.
I have chosen for today’s CotD one of the spikiest.
He has been a member of BWW since the earliest pioneers migrated from the broadway.com chatboard. His is one of the most brilliant minds on the board—-a fact that is acknowledged even by some of the posters he is vicious to. He was one of the first on the board to identify the Munchausen-by-Proxy Syndrome here. He does not suffer fools--at ALL. And he refuses to participate in group-think.
In fact, he may even refuse this position and refuse to accept Boobs’s tiara.
Thanks to the BWW Search Function, I was able to locate one of his first posts about the founding of the brand-new BroadwayWorld board. He said:
"Comedians and funny people are the only ones who can possibly save us in these troubled times because they see what's wrong and they say it out loud in the form of humor. And they're the only ones brave enough to do it. I think there is bravery, joy and cameraderie in humor...and that's why we quickly created another place to go to continue it."
Those words made me understand that what we see as his viciousness sometimes is really a brilliant piece of performance art. In these troubled times, we NEED strong opinionated voices like his, even if we find them "exasperating."
I give you today’s Celebrity of the Day. He has been accused of being in real life everyone from Michael Musto to Tony Kushner, but he has only revealed his true identity to a chosen few. I am, to my great frustration, not one of them. He is the ever-elusive Ennis to my ever-pursuing Jack, and I wish I knew how to quit him.
Please give a warm welcome to:

Oh, NAMO!!! He makes me quiver with joy every time he posts! Happy You-Day!
My question is: WHO ARE YOU REALLY?
Kidding....
PalJoey - I'm sorry I missed your day yesterday, hope you enjoyed it... Based on the comments on the previous page, it looks like I'm going to want to do some back reading to catch up on some cool stories.
That said, based on Namo's usual posts, I'm really looking forward to reading today's entries. Assuming, that is, that Namo will accept the tiara. You really are fascinating to read, Namo. Hope you enjoy your day!

Oh Jesus Christ Superstar. Where the hell is Sacheen Littlefeather when I need her??????
I am literally going to be completely away from a computer for most of the day until late tonight. Don't take that as a total snub. But I won't be back until late tonight.
Humor and love to all,
Fn

Namo, you know I love and you know why. Enjoy your day in the spotlight. Looking forward to your replies here.
He knew all that anti-campaigning would pay off.
Why does a song from "REM" keep running through my head?
