It takes a minute to answer these deep questions DG.

DG: If you happened to find yourself in the position of being the last person a total stranger talked to while they were dying - and they were terrified - what would you say to them?
I am likely to be in this position someday soon and it is a very difficult thing indeed. I would first try to listen, I find it is often best not to say much. I would be more interested in letting them know that I am there to sit with them in the pain, and if they ask to tell them, no matter what they feel about death it is a release. I don’t know what, if anything is out there, but I believe there is a power to freedom and death is another way to be free, to experience the new and hopefully the sublime.
Then I would hope a better person was able to talk to them anyway.

Cam: That halo always gets me, it is good to know you are immune to my charms though.

Smart - your answer reminded me of a scene in MASS APPEAL, where the seminarian and the older priest exchange views on dealing with the grieving.

DG, I certainly agree with that.

I have been wanting to do this for a very long time, so I figured why not do it today.

I have really been wanting that, and usually what I want, I get. Even if I have to do it myself.

I am off to bed, hopefully I will be able to get up to pass the baton. (I have to work anyway, so I guess I will.)
