Thanks for doing that list--very helpful for any that what to reminisce or look for ammunition when it is their turn under the spotlight.
Hope your reign has been grand!

One final congratulations and a final compliment. The podcast truly was superb. Of course, knowing you and Patty, it couldn't be anything less.

Pengy,
Thank you for your very thoughtful responses. I apologize for the delay in expressing my thanks, but I went to bed early after having been given the gift of my little son's cold.
Your answers are wonderful (except, as expected, the one about Sondheim. Oh well, at least he is older than I am!)
Keats is the only poet I have read that has actually made me cry...I mean cry, you know, teardrops on the page. It was right after someone's death--and Keats' own very early death always colors my reading of his poems--but still, it shows the power of his elegance as a poet.
Anyway, enough about ME! This is YOUR last hour of reigning over the Board!!!
I hope you had a lovely day yesterday and look forward to many more enlightening exchanges. Wow, a seminarian! Just the thing the Board has needed it to give it balance, eh?
P.S. DG, "Seminarians I Have Known" sounds like good title for your first book.

Thanks, also, for your list, Pengy. Like many others, I was hoping this would appear at some point.
I feel bad that I was "off the Board" during the reigns of so many honorees. I guess I'll have to PM everyone with words of appreciation. Sorry!
Hail to the Queens!

smartpenguin - I was more than a little depressed to learn that you're almost 2 years younger than me, because you're about 20 years wiser.
But, in spite of that, it was still great to learn a bit more about you.

One more congratulations before your reign comes to an end. I'm sure you had a wonderful day between this and PodCast Go!
You're the best, little man!

Thank you again to everyone. Your compliments were not easy to take, but I apreciate them deeply.
A few last notes:
Cam: I never follow the safety rules, I just play and see what happens.
Mamie: I hope Keats wasn't too depressing, I really love the beauty of his melancholy. The major thing, to me, about Keats is despite a far from easy life, and ultimately death at 26, he still found the power of life and art, and expressed it beautifully.
Kitz, Broadway_Baby, NYAdgal, Kringas and Beacon: Thanks.
Miss Pennywise: I really enjoyed your questions. I am not sure I bring much balance to the board, I am pretty "dark sided" myself.
I also go to the most liberal seminary in the country, which is good, they wouldn't let Universalists like me in most of the others.
Shameless: I have my silly side, my wisdom was all in perception anyway. My Grandmother used to say I was born acting like an 80 year old, I am just getting younger everyday.
ETA: Kel_Rel- Thanks. Yoda: YOU are the sweetest!

Thank you to everyone for your kind words and questions, and your general graciousness to me yesterday. It is hard for me to take those compliments, even in a setting like this, but I deeply appreciate them.
Kel: Your comment was lost in the cracks, but appreciated.
The process on the next celeb of the day:
As it was for so many others, this decision was difficult and taxing. I have many very close friends here, be they online or off, in the end; however, I decided to stick with the tradition of honoring someone outside of that zone. To my friends, I say I love and respect you, and I am sure your day shall come soon.
There are many people here who post opinions I respect, and many in whom I since a genuine warmth and compassion. Some of them have yet to be celebrity of the day, and there is a very long list of people who I wish to see named in the near future. I really hope no one thinks of this as some kind of hierarchical system, it is far from that, which is one of the things I love about it.

Now it is time to pass the baton.
My celebrity of the day is someone who embodies those qualities of warmth and compassion, and who, by her graciousness and kindness makes this an open and welcoming place.
As someone who lost my mother not all that long ago I feel a particular notion of propriety in passing the torch to our board mother:
Mominator- come get your cookies!

YAY!! Mom, you deserve this honor for so many reasons, some may say for your generosity with the cookies, others may say for your quick wit and humor, but I say it is for your kind heart and sweet soul. Have a wonderful day!!

When Clay mentioned to me last night that he was going to name mominator I shouted, "BRILLIANT!"
I haven't really interacted a lot with mominator, but I did receive a "cookie" one day and I always smile when I see her posts.
Congrats!
