I LUVS me some Addy, and i miss her. But really, isn't EVERY DAY on BWW Addy day?
My continued thanks to all of you for the beautiful notes and messages! (And iflit... I'm buying you a pretty pink one!)
Ok, time to get to work I see... Good questions, Craig.
1. I first stumbled upon BWW when I was doing a search about a show, and I came upon a link for BWW radio... One thing led to another and I found myself reading the Main Message Board with great interest. (Despite the fact that just about every thread had to do with Wicked at the time...) I believe my first post was in response to Tony Randall passing away...and I'm sure I wrote something pithy like "OMG!"
I then discovered the Off-Topic board when a misplaced click of the mouse landed me on a thread with a girl wearing a prom dress and tiara and organizing a date for the Tony's. I have told ~flowery friend~ that she was the one who captured my heart on the OT board, as I was fascinated by her sense of fun!
Then came the Adults Smoking Thread... which grabbed me and provided me with my first sense of community on the boards. It started as a shared trip down memory lane and then became one of the first 'conversation' threads, which gave birth to a great many REAL friendships. It was, and will always be, home to me.
2. My favorite show of all time? That's a really tough one to answer... BUT... there are two shows during which I can remember thinking "Wow. I am witnessing theatre history. This is something special." I saw both of the shows many times, and they remain two of my favorite theatre experiences ever: A Chorus Line and Dreamgirls. I wish everyone could have seen the original cast performances.
3. The book question is even tougher to answer. I have to think about that for a bit... but promise to get back to you.
4. My favorite part of the weekend is Friday night because I know that I have the satisfaction of a week of time well spent behind me, and I have the entire weekend ahead of me. One of my favorite ways to spend Friday night is simply to have a few close friends over for a simple dinner, to watch a movie or to play some games... Game Night is a favorite in the Addy household!
5. My sources of inspiration are mostly personal, though I have always been in awe of the grace and class displayed by Audrey Hepburn. (I'll bet you couldn't have guessed....). On a personal level, my sister is a deep source of inspiration. My nephew was born with severe handicaps and the way that she has dedicated her life to making his world as bright and happy as it can be, while being deeply involved in her community and family of friends leaves me with a sense of wonder at her gifts. She is two years younger than I am, yet I learn from her every day and hold her in the highest esteem.
I also remain close to a teacher in high school who picked me out from the crowd of my fellow music students and told me he would one day hear me sing at La Scala. His belief in me was so inspiring, and we remain close to this day. And, when I made my little debut in Carnegie Hall, he was there. It was one of my proudest moments to share that with him. (I'm still waiting on La Scala...)
Most of my inspiration, however, comes from having a positive outlook on life... as many of you know, I've had a few obstacles thrown in my path, and I decided a long time ago that not only would I survive, but I would celebrate each day for the gift that it is.
...I'm still thinking about the book...
Congratulations from the entire staff of Corine's Corner!

PS. To celebrate, why not stop by the Corner and read some of the new restaurant reviews and treat yourself to something special tonight?
oh, dear LORD, I promise to keep responding to your messages and questions when I can compose myself.....
In response to Midtown's question. Yeah, so, what's your point?
Besides, it's only today that we can pester her with personal and possibly inappropriate questions!

Ahhh, the Adult Smokers - I'm sure this will bring all of them out of the woodwork. To have had a Special K sighting so early is a very good sign indeed - and the most welcome one, I'm sure.
What beautiful answers Addy.. thank you!
Oh, don't let all that pinkness and light fool you Shameless. Addy can be very inappropriate. That's why I adore her!

Such a sweet, kind, classy, lovely woman, she's the closest thing we have to Audrey Hepburn around these parts. She makes BWW a better place to be. Congrats, dear!

I have to pop in and say "hello" to one of my very favorite BWWers - Addy. You light up the Board in such a positive way! Warm wishes are heading your way from Atlanta. Enjoy your day of celebration!
Congrat Addy!!!
Sueleen that bag is frightening..
Between the balloons, the bag and all the pink jewels, Addy will be quite a sight walking down the street... especially after all the pink drinks offered... perhaps someone should call a pink cab to help with the packages?
Sueleen - that bag is priceless!
My continued humble thanks to you all... you have no idea how much your words mean to me. Especially now...
Ok, time for me to start thinking about Addy 101, Shameless.
Kind of a frightening task...
Costume Mistress... I have such a vision in my mind right now!
What's your ideal at home meal, Addy? And your ideal meal in a restaurant?
