Margo - well it's certainly better than countless "appreciation" threads litering the board.

Does it serve any grand purpose? no. But who says everything in life has to have purpose. Can't some things just "be" ? I mean - look at so many posts on message boards without some grand "point" lol

Since this is only day 1, as another poster said - give it time for people to get the hang of it and turn "celebrity of the day" into something special/wonderful/etc

If you really want to know what RobbieJ got out of today and being the Board Celebrity of the Day - let's ask him to respond.

As cheesy as it sounds, I'm actually looking forward to getting to know more about some of the people that I've never talked to, and that haven't had a thread dedicated to them.

Besides, I'm sure that all of the attention whores out there will still find plenty of opportunities to get their fill.

3. The reigning Board Celebrity chooses the next Board Celebrity. If the current Board Celebrity doesn't post and/or doesn't choose the next Board Celebrity, then the first poster after 10am(eastern standard time) may nominate 3 people. A second poster must eliminate one of the three. A third poster then eliminates a second which will indicate who the next celebrity is.

For example:

I could nominate (after 10am if the MBCotD didn't choose a successor) Rob, Jose and Dollypop for example. The next poster after me would kick a person off that list (for example Dollypop) which would leave Rob and Jose. The next poster would eliminate either Rob or Jose leaving the new MBCotD
