I think it really depends how it's prepared. I prefer it prepared in the Japanese way, unagi-don. But it DOES have some really small bones that are too tiny to pick out and too large to feel comfortable swallowing (I was going to make a reference to my love life and refrained).

My bf made me try an eel roll once - it was good, but I think that was due to the sauce.

Well, I was going to just make a reference to my love life and refrained.

When it comes to food,

I am not that daring, but squid spaghetti was kind of interesting.

Eithiopian food is also a lot fun. I don't recall the name of it, but that big pancake like thing you use to eat the food with, which then expands in your stomache to something the size if New Jersey is always good.

Ooh, I like eel sushi actually. My first exposure to it was through Japanese cooking, which I think helped ease the transition - it's better than the way Chinese make it. I think it's sort of like fish, but a bit more tender.

And your BF WHO, Rath?

Oh God, squid spaghetti?! The Ethiopian pancake thing - are you thinking of naan? I had Ethiopian food before - I liked the goat curry, but wasn't a fan of the other stuff. I think it was because unfermented bread products just didn't sit well with me.

The most exotic thing I've ever eaten, huh? Er, G-rated...chicken feet? That's not very exotic by Chinese standards, but it's pretty weird. There's some messed up stuff, like sea cucumber and bird spit and that sort of thing. I'm generally not a fan.

I think Naan is the right word.

I went with a BF a few times and we fed each other - it was actually kind of fun, except by the time you feel full, it is too late. That stuff expands in your stomach and then you become one big alka seltzer commerical! And, some of those spices are less than friendly the next day.

I never got used to seeing the little squids on my pasta when in Taipei - they were kind of chewy, but harmless.

There were also a few breakfast buns (as in muffins, thank you) that had some weird stuff in it.

Now, I am dying to know what you PM'd Beacon!

I didn't want to scare the poor girl silly after all that BWW has achieved in undoing her good Mormon sensibilities!

I'm not a fan of the little squids either - I only like squid/octopus as kalamari. There's something about the tentacle texture that makes me squeamish on my tongue.
