I never played Power Rangers. I was in high school when the show became popular. Though my sister did have the Kimberly and Trini action figures.

Three years ago I was extremley diappointed to find out that this show used scenes from a Japanese series called "Super Sentai." Whenever the rangers were fighting in costumes against a monster it was always footage from the Japanese series.
Here's the proof. Since when did Jason have two friends who are Japanese at 3:22 of the clip:

Pretty much all the Saban shows did that. All of the scenes with Rita and her lair were lifted as well. That's why she was obviously dubbed and you never saw any characters interact with her out of costume.

"I may have made my Japanese friend always be Trini, but I don't remember, LOL."
My sibs and I played Power Rangers, too. I have a sister Trinidad (called Trini) so she was always relegated to that role. My older bro and I were the Puddies, and my younger bro alternated between Zack and Jason. Good times.
I liked them cos they were the live action Voltron! I thought Billy was so cute but then Tommy showed up and well...I became a green ranger fan, especially when he was evil!
How did I miss this thread? My friends and I used to watch the original seasons religiously every day before school. I used to have all the action figures, the megazord and the command center play set with zordon and the alpha figurine. Power Rangers pretty much replaced the Ninja Turtles for me which I never really understood, as a kid, why they stopped airing new episodes. Crazy times.

Incidentally, the woman who played Rita died of pancreatic cancer a couple years back, and the chick who played Trini was killed in a car accident in 2001.
And, no, that's not Jason as Brock at Sean Cody.
Evie- I loved Voltron (probably why I despised Power Rangers).

Why must you take the fun out of everything? It was still Jason David Frank on MTV's Undressed.

Unfortunately, it was on MTV and they didn't show anything, but I remember the scenes involved him and some female business partner getting a hotel room because they needed a private space to finish some business project and then she randomly gave him a ring. And not the kind one puts on their finger.
I remember I had the Power Rangers Calender and I also totally threw a fit when my uncle got me the the yellow ranger doll and not the pink ranger! Good times!
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofuI remember waiting in line with my parents and hundreds of other people hours before the store opened waiting for the action figures to go on sale. We were lucky, but by the time the people at the end of the line got through all they had left was the Yellow Ranger. I always felt kinda bad for Trini after that. No one liked her.
I remember getting the last White Ranger/lion transformer at (wait for it) Service Merchandise.
Does anyone remember that incredibly bizarre store? I think it was just an east coast thing, but I could be wrong. Most items you would just get a ticket for and bring the ticket to the register and then a conveyor belt from the 2nd floor warehouse would bring down your item. So strange, though a good system in theory.
My favorite MMPW toy was always the red knight that turned into the dragon. That thing was fierce.

Oh my God. I can't wait for this. My brother, now an adult, used to think he was a Power Ranger. We will be watching this together. And probably breaking out our old toys.
I found Jason's Undressed clips on youtube.

I remember Service Merchandise! I was so sad when ours closed.
JDF just lost his sex appeal for me after dropping the ponytail. He looks like Ben Stiller with a tan. But that clip is hilarious!
Oh and Trini died! Wow.

i loved how when Trini, Zack and Jason were removed, fired, or whatever happened to them... and then they wrote them out of the show you never really saw them... they basically dubbed their voices over shadows... it was hilarious!!
oh and I much preferred Aisha over Trini and Adam over Zack and Rocky over Jason...
my friend and I always thought how it was funny nobody in Angel Grove thought it was weird the Rangers out of costume always wore their clothes in their ranger color... and then when some of them switched Ranger colors their clothes changed colors too!!! didn't Bulk and Skull figure it out? man I loved those two guys.. haha

^ I preferred all the originals.
I think Bulk and Skull came close, until they got their brains fried by the baddies in the second film (which was canon).
I remember being TERRIBLY upset when Kimberly left, and then when they wrote her out later. I literally bawled, and that was the last new episode I ever watched.
^ Didn't they do some episodes where they went back in time and were children, and Kimberly stayed and traded places with some girl named Kat?
I wasn't a huge fan of the show, but it would be funny to watch it again now.
I was looking at the IMDB page, and there was an article linked to it for an actor who was given the death penalty. Apparently the guy was in 1 episode of the show, and he went on to murder people in real life.

I only have the vaguest recollection of that happening, except that it boggled my eight-year-old mind that three of the Power Rangers were being replaced. And not just that, but by three random unqualified kids Zordon grabbed off the street. There was like, no real reason given on the show. All it did was make Zordon look like a fickle bitch who would swap out rangers on a whim.
P, I member Service Merchandise! I always wanted to ride on that long conveyer belt that all the items would roll on.

oh yeah... that was power rangers zeo! haha... basically the rangers lost their powers and became kids and had to get their zeo crystal or something like that... aisha stayed in africa and was replaced with kat... that was so weird... so basically this girl kat moved to america and all of a sudden became a citizen? hilarious! aaaah power rangers! haha...
btw.. if any of you are watching Star Wars the Clone Wars on Cartoon Network... the voice of one of the characters is Zordon!
oh and I stopped after Turbo... i hated the completely new cast of characters...
and besides Power Rangers... for some odd reason.... i really loved VR Troopers!!! We are... we are VR! haha
