Her Misery is really quite a classic early 90's performance to be remembered and it saddens me that she doesn't get as much notice either for her forceful Dolores Claiborne. It doesn't really make much sense actually.
My favorite adaptattion is still Carrie. AND I LIKED IT!!
It's my favorite, too. Although, Shawshank is right up there! My favorite of the TV stuff is Storm of the Century.
What, no love for "Rose Red"? :-P

I absolutely hate that movie, but her performance in it is simply spectacular.
Kathy gave an utterly unforgettable performance.
I also got a kick out of this lady:
"Well, this deputy wants to be under the covers with the sheriff."
hehehe..... :)
I love this movie, and Bates's performance. Caan was great, too.
One of the successful "King" movies. Others include: Salem's Lot, Carrie, The Shining, Creepshow, Cujo, It (I don't care, it scared me!), Shawshank, Night Flier (no one's seen this! scary ****!), Dark Half, Dolores Clairborne, and Green Mile.
Secret Window wasn't bad, and featured an inspired performance by Depp.
Imagine how VERY different the movie woulda been if the original person they wanted to play Annie Wilkes had accepted it!
Who was that?
They should have turned it into a musical comedy with Middler.
MISERY!
The Musical
Some song suggestions"
A-Hobblin' We Will Go
Dirty Bird! Dirty Bird!
And the 11 o'clock #: Annie's Turn
I love Bette, but I think she is ALL WRONG for that part, and am glad that she declined.
MISERY IS ALIVE, MISERY IS ALIVE! OH, This whole house is going to be full of romance, OOOH, I AM GOING TO PUT ON MY LIBERACE RECORDS!!
And one of my favorites:
He didn't get out of the COCKADOODIE CAR!

Er...wrong movie, Dooder, baby.

Just because someone MENTIONED it doesn't mean you need to quote it!! Stay on topic, beeyotch!
Do not MAKE me get the hose.

Steve: According to family legend, Uncle Posey had a... thing... for cowboys.
Nick: He liked chaps in chaps. Was he into roping or branding?
Oh please...noone likes that one!
(actually ON topic, I wonder why they havent made a film of Rose Madder....I liked that book alot and it would be so visual.)
No, but Eli Roth is going to do CELL.
Rose Madder is a great book, if a bit schizo.
I would love to see Bag of Bones done as well.
Remember, "1408" comes out in a just a couple of months, and that looks SWEET!
