Romney repeats LIES already debunked about trade agreements and jobs plans

In Mitt Romney's response to this morning's weak BLS jobs report, I noticed two glaring LIES that have been debunked time and time again. Romney deviated from his usual pattern and took a few questions from the press. But I heard no one challenge two outright lies.

How can Romney expect to get away with repeating blatant LIES that already have been debunked?

Is Mitt Romney blowing it? The better question would be, "Has Mitt Romney already blown it?"

Let's start with the basics. Romney is not a conservative. He is a liberal. This is his track record. He won the primary because he had more money than any of the other candidates and quite possibly more than all of them combined. Jonah Goldberg has argued that Romney is a late convert to conservatism, and as such does not speak the language of conservatives, much like someone who tried to pick up a foreign language as an adult.

When Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts declared the Obamacare tax to be just that, a tax, and the law was constitutional because of that, conservatives were outraged. Romney was clueless.

He sent his Etch a Sketch master Eric Fehrnstrom to announce that the campaign considered Obamacare to be a penalty, not a tax. Less than a week earlier, the Supreme Court had managed to do what Romney himself could not do. It united conservatives behind him. In five days, he managed to blow it. In one simple interview, Team Etch a Sketch took the wind out of their own sails and made conservatives simply wonder what the hell he was thinking

Mitt Romney lied about when he left Bain Capital. According to a story in the July 12 Boston Globe, Romney continued to be listed as CEO of the venture capital corporation until 2002, three years after he claims he left the company.

Mitt Romney should call a press conference immediately to announce he is dropping out of the GOP presidential primary. He should release his delegates. He should do this without delay if there is any hope of a Republican victory in the 2012 Presidential election.

Boston Globe refuses to print a correction regarding Romney's time of departure from Bain, despite the Romney campaign's request.

"Having carefully reviewed that request, we see no basis for publishing a correction. The Globe story was entirely accurate.

The Globe story was based on government documents filed by Bain Capital itself. Those described Governor Romney as remaining at the helm of Bain Capital as its “sole stockholder, chairman of the board, chief executive officer, and president” until 2002. The story also cited state financial disclosure forms filed by Romney that showed he earned income as a Bain “executive” in 2001 and 2002, separate from investment earnings."
