If I had that kind of money, I would like to believe I wouldn't be squirreling it all away. If I did, I certainly wouldn't be throwing around the notion that I'm patriotic, love America, just not enough to fund it.
If the McCain people, who couldn't bother to vet "In what sense, Charlie?," realized what poison was in those tax returns, then Mitt not showing them now means he learned the truth could make people not like him a whole lot.
What's scary is McCain saw Mitt's tax records and vetted him and still thought Sarah Palin was the better choice. What does that tell you?

Honestly, I don't think it was Mitt's tax records that scared McCain as much as it was his overall wealth. Remember, McCain had already made the gaffe about not knowing how many homes he owned; the last thing he needed was putting someone on the ticket with even more homes.

It tells me exactly what I said above - that there's obviously some pretty damning stuff in there, but I don't know how "illegal" it is. Morally questionable most definitely, but again he had no problem showing it 4 years ago so I don't know how illegal anything in there is.
I thought McCain's wealth hurt him in 2008 so I was surprised Mitt was the guy the GOP decided to run with in 2012. I think the most damaging campaign ad would be reminding voters that McCain looked at Mitt and decoded to go with Sarah Palin. IMO,that speaks volumes.

I don't know about that. People know who they're going to vote for (if they can get off their asses to do it) and I don't know one republican who would see an ad and switch to Obama.
What amazes me is how did Romney beat out all the other Republican Candidates? Yeah, I know he appeared less crazy then them but was it just money? Was it because he could outspend the other candidates? Newt was ahead and then Mitt crushed him. Same with Santorum. Any candidate that was doing well in the polls,Romney attacked and he unlimited funds to do so.I wonder if that's how Mitt thinks he will win. After all, so far it has worked.

While I am not a fan of negative campaigns, I honestly don't think Obama has a choice, especially when up against the mountain of money on the other side and the clear willingness of Romney to lie repeatedly about Obama.
The biggest change this campaign cycle is that the Democrats are not fighting with one hand behind their backs. Obama is coming out swinging. And he is swinging had. Obama is defining Romney in ways that usually is reserved for GOP political operations. I have come to a point where I am ready to get down in the mud and sling some back. I would rather elections be about ideas and truth, but when your opponent has no basis in reality, the mud must be flung.
The reason his returns may be even more embarrassing than in 2008 is that with the nosedive the market and economy took in 2008, he may have paid no taxes at all. Again, not illegal, but not something he wants brandished across the tabloids.

Romney and his Campaign are not handling this very well, which goes to show they were not prepared for this. Seriously? Didn't they vet Mitt back in like January or February? This had to of come up. They did not feel this issue was important enough to prepare for? Their candidate looks shady and dishonest. My only regret is,this happened BEFORE The GOP Convention. Could they still nominate a new candidate or are they more or less stuck with Mitt?

There's no way the nominee will be anyone other than Romney, unless the tax returns show malfeasance. Sheltering money offshore, making tons of money, paying little or no taxes, all these would hurt Romney with the voters, but there's no way the GOP could turn on him. They'd be guilty of being 'anti-prosperity' or 'anti-success'; exactly what they accuse Obama of.
Changing nominees would be a fustercluck of epic proportions. That said, watching the GOP trying to rally around Jeb Bush would be priceless.

"After two consecutive days of strong attacks on President Obama for his comments touting government's role in fostering new businesses, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's message was decidedly more muddled on Thursday when a local television station here reported that one of the local entrepreneurs selected to illustrate Romney's point got help from local government."

A follow-up from a previous post about a Romney ad being yanked by TyouTube for copyright issues:
YouTube restores previously removed Romney ad following copyright claim
YouTube restored a Web ad from presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romneys campaign attacking President Barack Obamas cronyism record Thursday, after it was briefly removed from the site due to a copyright claim filed by music publisher BMG Rights Management.
Legal experts who spoke to TheDC about the video agreed that the claim filed by BMG was an abuse of current copyright law an unfortunate occurrence that happens quite frequently. The ad featured an 8-second clip of the president singing the lyrics, Im so in love with you, from the Al Green song Lets Stay Together.
BMGs connection to Crown/Random House Obamas book publisher sparked speculation that the ad might have been removed for political reasons.

Here is another 'typical' Mitt Romney supporter. Check out some of this guys videos on youtube. A REAL NUT! LOL!I bet he thinks his song is the greatest ever written. With supporters like this, Mitt Can't lose.
Seriously. I dare anyone to get through this entire video.I'm not entirely convinced that this guy is not some kind of performance artist and his 'crazy conspiracy' gag is not just some sort of gag or gimmick.(I wonder why ratings for this video have been disabled)

Mitt Romney knows and understands economics. He will help to create jobs and get America out of debt. He will restore America's credibility in the world. Obama is in his last months.
Mitt Romney knows and understands personal greed. Mitt Romney is unpatriotic, proven by his innumerable off-shore bank accounts. Mitt Romney is a tax-dodger.
If Barack Obama had $1 in an offshore account, the Republicans would begin impeachment proceedings tomorrow.
The problem with the "good businessman" argument is that the United States is not a corporation and citizens are not employees.
Jim Colyer, 'You People' say sh*t like that but ignore the FACTS. ROmeny will say anything to get elected. He will and has outsourced. His companies have been sold and Mitt is GREAT at business when it comes to Billionaires like himself. He is hiding his tax returns, he has accounts in the Cayman Islands and in Switzerland. He has lied and been caught in those lies. He has flip flopped repeatedly. He has rich men giving him money.Do you really think Mitt as President won't have to pay them back somehow?
Jim, You can't back up the BS you spew.Think what you want but most people see Mitt for what he truly is. Hell, even people in the GOP can't stand him and have pleaded with him to release his tax returns. Even the Tea Party hates him and see's him as a joke of a candidate. You've been trained well and your hatred towards Obama will get you a pat on the back from other Romenyites. However ANYONE who thinks Romney can do a better job is someone who can not be taken seriously.
Why not submit a song like the one I posted? It can't possibly be any worse (then again, I've heard your music.Never mind)
You People and your set of rules and hypocrisies really does sum up your desperation.
