re: More trouble for Cheney?

The alcohol question is one I have had since the news broke. It totally seems like the stall tactics to sober him up before anyone could test him. What an idiot.
PEACE.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

But what a horrible thing to happen in order for Cheney to finally get the boot. Now if we can just clean house a little more.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

Can any of our lawyers (brd, ywiw...) answer: If Whittington dies with a piece of bullet lodged in his heart, could the vice president be charged with Manslaughter? Negligent Homicide?

Any BWW legal eagles?

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (CNN) -- The man shot and wounded by Vice President Dick Cheney has suffered a "minor heart attack" after a piece of birdshot migrated and became lodged in his heart, a hospital spokesman said Tuesday.

PJ, from all accounts this was an accident that could not be foreseen. And, according to Cheney's people the man did not follow hunting protocol.

Now, if Cheney was drunk, or something like that then maybe there could be a charge.

Texas law would apply. I also do not handle criminal cases.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

"According to Cheney's people"...gee, why do I have a hard time believing anything they say, especially since they took so long to report this in the first place?

re: More trouble for Cheney?

We will never know the truth. I bet that there will be backlash against the ranch owner for calling the press.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

Oooops.... no need to be repetitive about the superficial birdshot being in the guy's HEART...

And they are still minimizing the seriousness of his condition. "We just want to keep an eye on him for a few days."

re: More trouble for Cheney?

Yeah, the "sprayed" schrapnel, you know, jus' a little buckshot between friends, y'all, somehow has made its way from his "cheek" into the man's heart. Sanjay Gupta: "the story has progressed a little..."

Fox News last night was having a field day making fun of David Gregory's zealotry vis a vis McClelland's spin. Can you IMAGINE how this would've been covered by the right, had Al Gore pulled this? Or more appropriate, Kerry, also a hunter?

Did asnyone see the front page of the New York Joke...err, I mean, Post?
Likening it to Elmer Fudd's antics and whatnot and making a complete and utter joke out of it.
I hope they fire the hack who wrote that article but it certainly plays to their base.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

I have a feeling that since the guy had a heart attack the jokes about the incident will stop.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

I can just see it. The fella dies. Cheney is grief-stricken.

No, he can't testify before any committee about anything.

Can't you see how heartbroken he is?!

He's very fragile right now!

Why must you badger the man!?

Just leave him alone!

You B*STARDS!!!

And he won't die, Pal Joey.

If you think they moved heaven and earth for Terri Schiavo..

If they have to transplant the poor old fella's dead face onto some poor Secret Service Agent's face, he will reappear, under a flag.

I wish someone would resurrect Charleton Heston's infamous line about the NRA. "...not from my cold dead hands..."

WCA - and when a young woman in North Dakota is having a back alley abortion - she can feel sorry for Alito's wife and regret her tears.

Yeah - according to the AP story I just read, it was just the tiiiiiniest little ol' heart attack. Not even a heart attack at all really. We're just "technically" calling it a heart attack, for lack of a better term. I know - instead of using the word "heart", let's use the word "fun". That's right. He's had a fun attack. Just a little attack of fun, and we want to keep him here for a few days to watch him. Having fun. Now, how about those dirty liberals ruining our families, huh?

Jeez.

And no one grew into anything new, we just became the worst of what we were."

Somehow, and I know you all agree with me on this, this is Hilary Clinton's fault.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

I think that once you're being kept in the ICU because doctors want to make sure the "pepper" doesn't lodge in any more major organs, it's a little too peppery. I'm not a hunting expert, but come on.

And as I said earlier, the first reaction I heard from someone who actually lives in an area with hunting is that this is what happens when people shoot while drunk. But they'll never, ever pin that on the acting veep.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

I wonder what Lynn "Tawdry" Cheney thinks of this.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

Oh, Wonderwaiter. I'm sure this is a vast conspiracy of the left-wing and the homosexual agenda to discredit Cheney and deal a blow to the NRA in one fell swoop.

Actually, don't you kind of wish it was now?
