The original PLANET OF THE APES.

The last 2 minutes of PRIZZI'S HONOR took me by surprise.

I had no idea that Cinderella would marry the prince and live happily ever after.

In addition to The Sixth Sense, M. Night Shyamalan used the twist ending in The Village as well. The Others and Psycho are two other good examples. SPOILER: Of course The Others does use the same idea as The Sixth Sense, a ghost not realizing they are dead, as its twist.

As far as in literature, both O. Henry (William Sydney Porter) and Saki (Hector Hugh Munro) were famous for using twist endings in their short stories. O. Henry was so famous for it that twist endings became popularly known as "O. Henry Endings"

I figured out The Sixth Sense about halfway through. (I still thought the film was terrific). For me it was The Others. That ending really knocked me off my seat!

I agree with The Others. I also thought that the Prestige was pretty good. I loved the ending.

I was neither shocked by The Usual Suspects nor The Sixth Sense. Perhaps I'm just too skeptical a movie watcher. I think knowing that a movie has a twist almost ruins it, since you then spend the entire time trying to figure out what it will be.

I was pretty thrown by the twist in A Beautiful Mind, although it's not an ending.

Jacob's Ladder was obvious to me, but I had recently read "An Occurance at Owl Street Bridge," so I was predisposed to it.

And I hated, hated, hated "Identity." To me, the twist ruined the entire movie, because it gave me absolutely no reason to care about any of the characters in it anymore.

Play-wise, both Lieutenant of Inishmore and The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?. Especially with the latter, I felt like I had gotten kicked in the gut.

I thought PSYCHO had a pretty twisted ending.

As far as THE SIXTH SENSE goes I saw the ending at some point and then I watched the whole thing with my parents and the asked if the ending was a huge twist and then when they found out I had already seen the end they were mad.

My favorite twist ending was in "No Way Out". Maybe I'm slow, but I didn't see that coming at all. I haven't watched that movie in a while; maybe I will this weekend.

There was a time that Kevin Costner was considered a good actor, and he definitely is in this movie, as is Hackman, of course.

Not exactly a quality movie, but Derailed's twist surprised the hell out of me.

The enjoyed FIGHT CLUB until the ending. It's one of those stupid "twist" endings that makes no sense that makes the whole previous two hours meaningless. Kind of like IDENTITY.
